I just take this phone from the carrier few days ago... Then I saw ColorOS update on oppoforum. I am very new(noob) to flashing and all Android Recovery stuff...I had follow every instruction but the problem facing down as below:

1.) Black screen.
2.) With the driver installed on my laptop, still show Samsung ADB devices.
3.) Without battery on the phone, I suspect the phone keep restarting.
4.) Without driver installed, it won't shown other name than "Android".

[Q]Need help flashing CM12 on XM SS topic

After countless hours of searching over all related posts I am still confused and pretty much intimidated on the flashing aspect. From all my searching expeditions till now I managed to outline some of the points but I don't know how to move forward with them. Also I am concerned with the possibilities of getting the device unresponsive just because of my stupidity, want to gain full knowledge before going forward with the process.

So as per my findings, for installing a CFW like CM12, I require the following things,
1. Unlocked Bootloader.
The Bootloader on my XM SS can be unlocked, I did a check on that but the thing that's bugging me is the occurrence of bootloop.
Question for this point: What is the proper method to unlock the bootloader?

2. Rooted phone.
This is the step that has confused me from the beginning. Some posts mention that rooting is essential requirement to get a fully functional CFW and in some posts there is a not a single mention for the requirement of a rooted phone.
Question for this point: Is rooting essential? What is the best step by step method that you use to root your device?

3. Back up data.
I read somewhere that unlocking the bootloader erases some of the important information like the IMEI number, DRM keys and other important stuff? Also the importance of backing up data like contacts and other stuff externally.
Question for this point: How to do a proper backup? How to go on backing up contacts, whatsapp databases etc?

4. Installing a custom recovery?
Honestly I am totally confused with this topic. What does custom recovery actually do? Best custom recover for CM12?
Question for this point: How to select and install a custom recovery?

5. Adb, Fastboot drivers.
Is it essential to actually download the full adb package that google provides to develop android apps? And are fastboot drivers available for windows 8.1? Will the phone management software provided by Sony work as a driver?
Question for this point: ADB, Fastboot driver installation?

6. Flashing the CM12.
The most important step in the whole process? How to go on with this step so as to successfully flash the firmware? Restoring the backed up data?
Question for this point: Steps to properly flash the CM12?

7. Link2SD, App2SD?
Which one will you suggest and how to go on installing it?

I know that most of you will find it bothersome to answer so many questions in a single go but I intend this topic to be a guiding thread for noobs like me who are beginners that want to flash some CFW on their devices.

hi Guys, i dont know if i m posting in right thread. I encountered this issue lately. while i was listen to music through headphone, i opened the application called Audio Fx or something like that ( CM 12 latest nightly Android lollipop ) screen of my set suddenly turned off, blanked along with music stopped. Now the phone isn't responding at all. the soft keys ( Home key and Arrow key ) of the phone are glowing continuously . Whereas. battery prior to this was almost 82 percent.

I have tried following things;

1. Tried to press and hold power button while holding volume down button for several seconds ( nothing happened )
2. Tried to press and hold power button while holding volume up button for several seconds ( nothing happened )
3. Tried to press and hold power button and pressing the Volume up and Down buttons simultaneously for about 2 minutes while phone was connecting to power source.

while i connect to power source i.e. charger, no LED light is observable either Red or Green.

I rooted my m8 on stock android 4.4.4 and since the lollipop update rolled out, I applied my backup from TWRP and flashed stock recovery then relocked bootloader. Installed Lollipop via OTA, unlock bootloader and flashed TWRP then flashed supersu. So I'm on android lollipop 5.0 and rooted. I don't know what went wrong, my phone seem too laggy ( mostly when I'm trying to type on facebook messenger, every times i type a text it stacks for some times) And most importantly, some stocks application such us HTC sense TV and Scribble not working anymore. every time I open, it say " stopped unexpectedly ". I don't really know what I might do to get it fix, please advice me.

How do I clean install a lollipop ROM? topic

Hey,

I been trying different custom lollipop roms on my G3 but for some reason after I go into twrp and do a factor reset then install a different lollipop ROM it will start up with the screen saying android is updating like you if you would flash and update. I alos even tried doing format or delete everything option I twrp, and put a rom on my SD card and it did the same thing. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is that just normal?

I recently installed Cyanogenmod on my phone using the CM Installer. Now my phone is having issues connecting to the PC. I want to try and troubleshoot the problem by turning off ( or on???) USB Debugging.

I push the Build Number 7 times. It brings up Developer Options. I go there but USB Debugging is not listed as an option. Other options are there such as...

- Android debugging
- USB debugging notify
- ADB over network
... etc.etc.

Does anyone know what happened?

I was trying to flash STOCK ROM.
After flashing the stock rom, I found that I lost IMEI numbers and bluetooth address.
So, I went back to recovery to flash the rom again, Android Bot with red alert was coming.
So, I used SP tools to flash the ROM again but now with "Format option" including boot loader also.

After that, phone is stuck in Micromax logo and am not able to access anything including recovery.

Nexus 9 Pairing with Folio Keyboard topic

I'm finding the pairing of the Folio Keyboard with my Nexus 9 to be problematic. I'm not sure if this is because there's an issue with NFC on either device or I'm just doing it wrong.

Pairing the keyboard using only bluetooth works but needs to be triggered by selecting the already paired with keyboard in bluetooth settings and can take 10s of seconds before it is connected. I expected that the keyboard would connect as soon as it came in range of the NFC chip, but it doesn't. I think NFC at least partially works as the keyboard is detected by the tablet as a trusted device via NFC. When I follow the directions to pair the keyboard via NFC by placing the tablet on it in the right manner it does not pair though I hear a tone when the doing it, that doesn't happen when I change the orientation of the tablet. From this I conclude that the NFC hardware works but something in my use of it, the configuration of the tablet or a system bug is stopping it working properly.

1) Is it a reasonable expectation that I can be expect once pairing has been completed that placing the tablet on the keyboard will be recognised by NFC without having to lay the tablet in the manner described in keyboard documentation?
2) Assuming the desired outcome as described above is possible will this trigger the tablet to turn on bluetooth (if it is turned off) or is it necessry for bluetooth to be either manually turned on, left on or find some other mechanism that triggers bluetooth to be turned on in order to connect the keyboard?
3) Is it a reasonable expectation that keyboard and tablet to be quickly connected (in a second or so) via bluetooth?

This has been my first time running into a phone where the ROMs are picky on which bootloader or radios are installed beforehand. The bootloader/bootstack I understand , but what about radios? I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy S5 (AT&T) with cricket. Since the phone works flawlessly with just the cricket SIM in the phone. I had no reason to get it unlocked or had to change any internal apn settings. I will be visiting England in 2 weeks and I'm planning to try using my Verizon Galaxy S4 in England with an EE SIM card.

I did some research and it seems the phone is carrier unlocked.

I have a couple concerns:

Will the new SIM reset my phone?

Will I have to turn off the phone for the new SIM? I am on NC5 because when I got the phone and updated, I got the random reset problem (and I use google maps to drive an ambulance). I'd like to update the phone since I've read they fixed that issue but I've read that you can't root above NC5. Last time I turned the phone off, it auto updated when I turned it on.

This is the first time I've tried doing the SIM swap, when I went to Japan I just rented a smart phone.

But if I move farther away I lost wifi connection, I don't know if the software issues or it there fix? i was searching any method to root my phone and found this method for 183.46.15 (but my firmware was 182.46.15) :

I tried this method to root but i did'nt work. Somebody had written there that if I flash 183.46.15 using rsdlite than root can be possible using the said method.

but flash failed at 15/17 system.img,

now my phone is stuck at AP fastboot,

[Q] Wake/touch Issues with Making/recieving calls topic

I got this phone about 1-1.5 months ago and it has been great to me except for one issue.
When I got the phone, I rooted it and installed Carbon rom 4.4.4 on it. Everything worked great except for one big problem.
When making or receiving a call, the phone would go straight to lock (screen off). the call would still go through but the phone would become very slow to wake back to the screen, and after unlocking, the Phone app (teleservice.apk) would not respond to any touch input. This meant I could not access my voice-mail, as I could not enter the pin. Using Developer options i was able to confirm that the touchscreen was still functioning. I had originally thought this was an issue with the specific version of CarbonRom that I had installed on the phone, so i posted to their thread in the hopes i could get an update/answer. CarbonRom for the T0lte has not been updated since 11-24-2014. I was done waiting so I decided to try another ROM. I first tried CM12, And while the phone app did now accept touch input, the phone still had alot of trouble waking after initiating or recieving a call, and the screen would turn off right after turning on most of the time. Then I tried a stable version of LiquidSmooth 3.2 (4.4.4) and it is still having the same problem.
The phone app is accepting touch input, but I can hardly get the screen to come on at all while a call is on. i am guessing an issue such as this presenting itself across 3 separate roms means something between the roms and the baseband/radio isnt communicating correctly? What am I doing wrong here? should I reflash the baseband? go back to stock and see if that works?

I recently purchased the Lenova A6000 phone and i see the GPS sensor not working on this phone.. Saw it shows location ok sometimes but doesn't move while navigating, so Installed the Androsensor application to verify and found the provider field is always "network".. Never find it as GPS.

Is anyone else facing similar problem or is there any solution to issue..?

Firstly, this is not a flashable zip from receovery. This is a fully working ROM from TWRP backup. I tried to make it flashable zip but somehow didnt succeed and also didnt get time to work further. I will do it when I get little free time.

Instructions:
1. MUST HAVE TWRP RECOVERY ON YOUR DEVICE
2. Download the ROM on your computer and extract it.
3. Copy the extracted ROM to your sd card > TWRP > Backup folder
4. Wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache
5. Restore > Select the copied ROM backup from SD card.

This includes GAPPS as well. Other addons you can flash as you want from other sources. As per my usage can be used as daily driver if you want change from MIUI and want to see lollipop in your Redmi Note 4G.

If anyone can make it as flashable zip, you are most welcome. Please upload and give me link to add to this first post.

Just picked up a new T-mobile M8 after my GS4 decided to die on me. Been trying to read up everything, but just wanted to make sure before I started flashing. I'm currently on bone stock T-mobile 4.4.2 firmware. I'm looking to flash a GPe based firmware, like here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-...32015-t3010825.
1) I'm not interested in flashing kernels or converting to full GPe or whatever, so that means I don't need to S-Off correct?
2) Sounds like there are wifi issues flashing new lollipop roms? Should I accept the OTA updates to Lollipop before flashing or stay on 4.4.2?
3) Depending on above, the correct steps for me would be to: Accept OTA updates to Lollipop (?) --> Unlock bootloader --> Install recovery --> Install ROM from recovery. Am I missing anything??

I am running CM12 (Lollipop) on my HTC Desire HD and was very excited to see it on there
But now I feel like the experience is choppy at best. Yes I can overclock and underclock but I have a couple questions:

a) Is there a typical process that can be halted that would improve the performance of the phone when running CM12?
b) As an older guy, I'm a little old school. I want to see my old phone be zippy and light (ie getting the most out of the old hardware while maintaining fluidity). Is there a ROM that would be considered barebones...I really need the basics:
- phone, messaging
- connectivity/tethering
- camera
- performance tools/features
- decent battery life

I do no real gaming on my phone (simple games at most)...nor do I watch movies other than occasionally pulling up a video on youtube and or review a vid just recorded

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I feel CM12 was cool, but it seems overkill on this dated hardware

Help: Encrypted OnePlus one not showing data topic

Yesterday i was encrypting my OnePlus One (had no custom ROM or anything, with CM11S). Everything went well, it completed the whole encryption process. After that it restarted, but since then I am unable to access any of my previous data. It is showing like a newly bought phone, asking me to setup accounts etc. But the storage still has the data, as the storage capacity is showing 20gb used.
When i restart my phone, it asks me to enter password to decrypt the storage. I am doing it, but it is still not showing anything.

I have some important stuff in the phone and cannot lose the data. Someone please help to retrieve my data.

Still Encrypted after Rooting? topic

So I lasted about 3 days before I had to root my N6. So I did, using Wugs toolkit. After rooting and going through the process, my phone still said it was encrypted and I still had to enter the pattern to turn my phone on.

However, after installing TWRP recovery and manager, my phone says it's still encrypted, but I no longer have to enter my pattern to turn on my phone.

Is this normal? Is my phone still encrypted?

I know most people want to get rid of encryption, but I like having it and need it. Is there a way to make the pattern required to boot up?

Will this work? I know the GT-19506 has a better cpu and 4g but if does it have the same screen and screen connection?

So my phone is having a problem, not sure if it is a bootloop or what :confused: Whenever my I tried to reboot my phone, it'll show my desktop for about 2-3 seconds then it reboots again and again. I have to removed my battery for about 30 minutes then put it back on and if im lucky, it'll boot successfully. Then when I play COC or used FB with my data network, it suddenly reboots, so another endless boot :(

I'm out of idea what to do, so please help me :( Here are the things I've tried:
1. Flashed stock rom from sam mobile through Odin
2. Factory reset in stock rom
3. Delete cache/dalvik and factory reset in stock recovery
4. Factory reset in TWRP (latest version) & advance wipe including my internal SD
5. Flash stock rom using KIES

But still no chance of getting out of this rebooting issue :confused: Is my phone damaged cause of too much flashing? Is the "FORMAT" option under the "WIPE" section in TWRP safe? and what will happen if I format?

Hi, I am trying to get the Bluestacks app player to run on a virtual Windows 7 machine on virtualbox. However, whenever I try and Bluestacks, it gives me the an "Error 25000" regarding the graphics card not being supported. The image of this is in the attachments.

I've seen some quick fixes that involve using an older version of bluestacks, which aren't able to run a lot of the more recent apps. My main goal is to run clash of clans via bluestacks on virtualbox.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm open to using other vmware software if this is a virtualbox exclusive problem. But I would like to stick to bluestacks.

In the 'assets' folder there is only the splash screen and a file named "game.droid", 2.5 mb. Seems like it was made with "YoYoGames Studio" or something. Is there any way to get the images? This is an abandoned APK that was taken down the app store and the dev seems to have abandoned it.

Keyboard Shortcut for Recent Apps? topic

I'm trying to find a keyboard shortcut for my Nexus 7 2013 that will trigger the Recent Apps screen to come up. I know that ALT-TAB will let me scroll through the recent apps list, but that's not what I'm looking for. What I need is a keyboard shortcut that behaves exactly like the Recent Apps button on the nav bar, just bring up the Recent Apps screen and sit there and wait for more input. And this needs to be a keyboard shortcut that doesn't require me to hold a key down. I've been searching for hours and can't find a way to make this happen.

When I connect to my Mi Band via BT, my WiFi stops functioning. If I disable BT, WiFi starts working, but then I can't connect to BT. I'm on 5.0.2, and I had CM12, and I also tried Slim Rom, but the issue persisted across both ROMs.

[Q] Pls help! Earphone jack acting weird topic

Hi all,

I'm facing a really weird problem with my Z2. I use a pair of Creative EP-630s with my Z2 and PowerAmp as my music player app. Yesterday, while playing music, suddenly my earphones went silent. I thought the jack was loose, and tried pushing it hard into the phone output jack - doing which I noticed a split second of music output before it went silent again. I tried doing this a few more times with the same result and gave up. Later I tried the noise cancelling NC31 earphones which came with the phone and it started playing music normally. No problems whatsoever. I tried the EP-630 again, and I got the same split second audio and silence. I tried 2-3 other earphones on it, and all of them played split second audio and then went silent. However, the NC-31 is playing fine.

There is no problem with the EP630 as it is playing fine on my other phones. I tried restarting, leaving the phone off for a period and then turning it on, but to no avail. If it's a HW problem then the NC31 wouldn't have played. But it keeps playing fine! I know about the OMTP and CTIP jack standard thingie, but the thing is, the EP-630 payed absolutely fine for 2-3 months and it suddenly went silent. I can't take it to the Service, as I bought it without warranty. Any ideas? I'm pretty stumped.

I really don't like the sound output of the NC31, otherwise I'd have continued using it.

Saw a few of these on eBay and wondering if anyone has tried one yet. The experiences I've had with battery cases on my other phones (with the exception of Mophie) haven't been all that positive.

An extra 5200mah sounds like it'll get me through a cross country flight, with layovers. Which is the primary reason why I'd purchase it. I'm currently using an Anker brick, but I'd like a more svelte solution.

Thank you Samsung for letting down the 910U. There are absolutely no excuses to take so much time to update all variants. Too many variants and inability to maintain them... Never expected releases to come as fast as on my Nexus 5, but that bad is really a shame (Other manufacturers have already updated their flagships)
With all these different models of the same phone, Samsung has managed to create an extra fragmentation level of the already fragmented Android. Amazing.
And I don't want to hear that is maybe because we'll get a newer version than 5.0.1 or an improved Touchwiz (Like was speculated as an explanation for the very slow initial rollout of Lollipop). Most likely well get finally 5.0.1 when everybody will be on 5.1
I came back to Samsung after a few years (My last one was a Tab 7.7). Definitely amazing hardware each band every time. The software side (incl speed of new releases) is still a shame.

I was wondering is it is at all possible to swap an SCH-i545 Logic Motherboard (Unlocked) inside the SCH-R970?

I researched the comparisons of both S4's and found that they are the only 2 that the internal layout (locations of all the components) match.

Though most everything are interchangeable, I am under the impression that if i swapped the R970 Logic Motherboard with the i545, i would essentially have a Verizon i545.

Any fellow pro's ever try or have any input for this?

Note: I am very well versed in replacing many parts in the S3's & S4's...

Ich habe das HTC Desire EYE und habe festgestellt das bei eingehenden Anrufen und Benachrichtigungen immer nur der untere Lautsprecher geht!
Ist das normal?
Beim normalen Abspielen von Musik oder in den Töne Einstellungen funktionieren die Lautsprecher ja auch alle beide!

Aber Wenn eine Benachrichtigung wie Anruf,Whatsapp,Messenger,Wecker oder sonst was ankommt geht immer nur der untere Lautsprecher.
Ich dacht ich frage jetzt einfach mal jemanden der das Desire EYE auch hat.
Bitte um Antworten,da ich das Gerät ansonsten am Montag umtauschen werde.

I have upgraded from kitkat to lollipop using RUU on my HTC One M8, but it was already on the stock kernal.

the writing that comes up when I turn my phone on or when its charging- I have no boot loop issued - kernel is not seandroid enforcing or something similar but I don't see any reference to that in this forum that has to do with just removing or hiding this "error" from what I gather it happened by not backing up something properly that I could restore to the phone afterwords. I'm running CyanogenMod 5.02 with TWRP recovery on my note 4

Hi guys. I'm trying to fix this phone for my brother. He said he went to factory reset and wiped his phone.



(I put it in ADB mode to show more of the messages. I never flashed anything from ADB)

So it looked like he managed to wipe his systems so I downloaded Odin, installed the drivers and got the stock firmware from sammobile for his model. When I tried to flash it fails. I am not sure what I can do from here. Is the phone done? The previous forum threads were suggesting turning on USB debugging but the system isn't even on the device anymore for me to enable it.

I was thinking maybe I can flash it through recovery but I didn't find anything on google that said I could do that.

[Q] Full ROM backup/restore? topic

I recently upgraded from a Galaxy S4. I had flashed a custom ROM, 4.3 Stock(ish)v06. The main reasons I loved it were for the built-in WiFi Tethering and the built-in ad blocking.

1) Is there such a ROM for the LG G3 with these two features? If not the tethering, the ad-blocking is much more important.

2) I have been out of ROM flashing for quite a while and only got back into it a year or so ago to root my Galaxy S4. To be able to do a full backup of my current ROM and everything in memory so that I can restore it completely, what do I need to do? Is it something like this:

a) Root it
b) Install a custom recovery (I liked Philz)
c) Use the custom recovery to do a full backup
