[Q] Question about Stock vs Custom ROM topic

I recently needed to take my GT-N7000 to Sammy for a new audio jack socket so I had to reload the stock official ROM (Singapore Singtel) as well as resetting the binary count to zero. They won't even entertain out-of-warranty repairs if they see the phone has been modified even though they always wipe and reload the stock ROM as a matter of course.

Be that as it may. They repaired the phone and I re-installed the PhilZ CWM v6 recovery which I really like. However, I'm wondering whether it's worth bothering to reload the custom ROM I was using before (Ultimate XXLT4 JB 4.1.2).

The only reason I can think of for me would be if there was a battery life benefit. This ROM claims to be "battery friendly". Can anyone say with any accuracy what the difference would be compared to the official ROM? I recently put a new battery in the phone which makes it a bit difficult to tell.

[Q] Q&A- Different radio versions general question topic

I'm by no means an expert, but I have rooted/flashed ROMs on different phones the past few years. This has been my first time running into a phone where the ROMs are picky on which bootloader or radios are installed beforehand. The bootloader/bootstack I understand , but what about radios? Aside from different ROMs requiring certain radio versions, what's the real difference between 12b and 27a? Better signal from towers? Better Lte connectivity?

Quick question about OTA updates topic

I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy S5 (AT&T) with cricket. Since the phone works flawlessly with just the cricket SIM in the phone. I had no reason to get it unlocked or had to change any internal apn settings. My question is with it being an AT&T phone using a cricket SIM card for service will it be able to receive OTA firmware updates? Thanks in advance.

I'm sure you guys get this a lot, but I had a quick question concerning the complexity of modifying the bootloader to be unlocked or unsecured with the source code now being released by Samsung.

I'm contemplating doing it. I have a strong background in programming, so I'm not intimidated by the complexities involved in such a task. Links to any tutorials on how to do this is welcomed (50,000 ft-high-level explanations).

Basic question about stock music player. topic

I have thousands of music files on my SD card. The stock music player seems to only be able to access and read ( when in shuffle mode under tracks ) some of my songs , meaning the ones only under tracks heading in shuffle mode. A little bit of research made me believe that the reason only half of my songs are listed under tracks is that the rest are within sub folders on the SD card and not accessible under tracks to be played via the shuffle method.

Any ideas on what I need to do to make all my songs accessible for shuffle play?

ROM question topic

Hello, from what I've gathered 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 ROM's seem to have no audio during BT calls via a BT headset. My m4 is rooted, running TWRP and bootloader unlocked via HTC Dev, so I can't go back to a Stock ROM. What options do I have for something that HAS working Bluetooth Audio? I've heard I would need a 4.4.2 ROM, but all I've found are stock 4.4.2 ROM's, or am I missing something?

I have bought a new tablet (Asus k019) and a new sd card because I can only use 4/8gb of internal storage,but I can't download any game/app bigger than 1.5 gb (I have 1gb left on the internal storage) because it says I don't have enough memory and any picture I recieve on whatsapp or any picture I take it's saved on the internal storage (called /sdcard/ in file manager and the card /MicroSD/ ,btw).On my old phone all my media it's automatically saved on the sd card,not on the internal storage.How can I make the sd card the default location for apps/media?

I am currently running the latest Verizon of android 4.4.4 on my Verizon note 3. As far as I am aware there is no root for 4.4.4.

Is it possible to flash back to android 4.4.2, then perform one of the older methods of rooting?

I have a Alcatel One Touch Pop 7 tablet from T-Mobile. There is someone on a YouTube video who has the same tablet, but has bricked it installing a custom ROM. He is begging me to make a backup of my "system" folder to send to him.

My question is, is that safe to do? I'm a complete noob when it comes to rooted devices, so I don't know if there is anyway that could be damaging to me, or if I would be doing someone a solid and helping them bring their tablet back to life.

Please, can someone advise me if this is OK or not (me making a backup of my system folder and sending it to him?)

NOOB with a question about missing radio band after installing CM10.1.3 topic

Sorry if this has been answered but I searched quite a bit and didn't see anything that looked similar! I flashed my Atrix HD to CM 10.1..3 because the phone is old and was slowing down. This was my fist attempt at a process like this and I figured it out and the phone is working great except I don't get LTE speeds like I was getting before. After a lot of research I think I know why but I can't figure out the fix. I checked my wife's phone (stock S3) by dialing *#0011# and her radio band is band 17. I went into my settings using *#*#4636#*#* and there is no Band 17 available. The only bands it shows is AUS2, USA, Cellular, PCS, Band Class 6 and Band Class 15.
Is there a way to enable Band 17 in Cyanogenmod 10.1.3???

[Okay i'm going to be quite honest, i might sound like an idiot on my post haha.] I just got my LG G3 and i've already root'd and got twrp and everything but i just saw a thread about bump and "Unlocking your LG G3" and having to do with Bump. I'm curious does that mean you can unlock your phones sim?? lol i might sound like an idiot or does it mean that we can now flash roms from lets say the GSM model of the G3 or roms from the Verizon model etc. This isn't a troll post i'm just that stupid lol. Hello..I have Z1 and I downloaded an app called Pimp My Z1
It allows overclocking, underclocking and stuff like SetCPU does but here is the question..
There is a preset called Battery Max which makes the "Maximum" bar go lower...
That means underclocking the CPU right?
I've read that underclocking will make the CPU to become worn...
It will have less performance afterwards etc etc...
Is this true?
