Just come from the Note 10.1 (2012) which was running on the Gnabo v8 ROM and the Boeffla kernel and was wondering what's the best ROM and kernel for the TabS?

Help! Installing custom rom, kernel and rooting topic

Hi

I was wondering if some one would help me and answer some questions about rooting, installing custom roms and kernels on my LG G3 - D855. I am a complete novice when it comes to installing any 3rd party software on phones.
I wish to install a custom rom (Cyanengine mod 12 Android L 5.0.2) onto my phone and possibly a custom kernel to improve the battery life. I believe I have to root to do this as well?
One of my worries is that I could brick my phone. If I do this , is it fixable? What order should I go about installing the modifications? Root, rom , kernel? Root, kernel , rom? Also what is TWRP? Sorry for the amount of questions, but I would be really grateful if some one could explain the process, and any thing I should avoid.

Kernel is not seandroid enforcing?
the writing that comes up when I turn my phone on or when its charging- I have no boot loop issued - kernel is not seandroid enforcing or something similar but I don't see any reference to that in this forum that has to do with just removing or hiding this "error" from what I gather it happened by not backing up something properly that I could restore to the phone afterwords. I'm running CyanogenMod 5.02 with TWRP recovery on my note 4

[Q] Problems with SunShine: what stock kernel to flash? topic

Hello,

I wanted to S-OFF my HTC One M7 and it looks like my last hope is use SunShine in the end.
Since I receive the following message when SunShine runs on my phone, I would like to receive some help to figure out what is the stock kernel I have to flash in order to run SunShine.

At the moment I use Elemental X kernel, as shown in the signature below, but I have not been able to find a kernel to meet the requirements. By the way, I have a rooted and unlocked phone, and I wouldn't like to come back to stock if possible.

I remember seeing/reading somewhere that was about a write-protection removed kernel and that the thread also provided the default kernel.
You see, only wanted the modded kernel to remove some **** the phone had. But now I don't have access to the front camera and I really need it.
Do anyone of you know where can I find the default kernel? [not ROM. BTW its a Sprint/Boostmobile model]

KERNEL: gustavo_s' kernel for AOSP version 04 Feb 2015 with Synapse.
So one day when drinking beer I thought to myself: if Ondemand is so sensitive in jumping to higher frequencies, why bother setting the threshold low? So I just simply went to Synapse and set the up-threshold to 99%. Naively I just thought it was to make sure the CPU was full until it needed a faster frequency. To my surprise, a few days later was fantastic: the time my GS spent on high frequencies was so good it looked like I was using conservative, the least time was on 1200MHz and goes up along with lower frequencies. And the performance was intact :silly::silly::silly:
:silly::silly::silly: can anyone confirm you had tried this before?

One last thing: I just enable GPU rendering, I read that GPU used more power so it is not efficient but on this kernel I am able to use 54MHz and 66MHz which only drain 800Mah which is less than the voltage of 200MHz. My first feelinng is that scrolling through Manga app no longer lags. Will this work as I expected, guys? :silly:

[Q] Stumped! Hitting a wall building kernel for T230NU (Galaxy Tab 4, 7")... topic

I'm running into a really annoying issue trying to compile a custom kernel from the Samsung source for my T230NU (Galaxy Tab 4, 7"), the first image I assembled flashed fine via Odin, but wouldn't boot. So I tried just unpacking the boot image, modifying build.prop and repacking it, but now it won't even flash! I get a FAIL error from Odin immediately after NAND Write Start.

Does anyone have experience modifying this kernel? Can you weigh in on which toolchain I need to use, or maybe have some scripts for packing and unpacking the boot image? Right now I'm using this: https://github.com/kumajaya/degas-mkbootimg which does seem to be working, besides the issues I'm having with boot and such.

My battery is horrible, terribly horrible. I was using Validus, but battery was bad, so I change to XenonHD. Battery has improved, but not enough. Now I'm using CM 12, and it's worse.
I run anything them I want, but the battery is my concern.
So, what do you advise me? I'm going to test B14CKB1RD and SaberSunset.

[5.0][CM12] Custom OC Kernel topic

This is a custom kernel based off of the CM12.0 Kernel that was created by stargo for Lollipop. Currently, the only difference is the availability of an extra CPU clock speed at 1.3Ghz.

I don't have the source code on a repo yet, but I did want to put this out there for people to test and see how stable it is.
