Quick question about OTA updates topic

I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy S5 (AT&T) with cricket. Since the phone works flawlessly with just the cricket SIM in the phone. I had no reason to get it unlocked or had to change any internal apn settings. My question is with it being an AT&T phone using a cricket SIM card for service will it be able to receive OTA firmware updates? Thanks in advance.

I recently purchased a phone on ebay that listed 4.0.4 as the Android version. See attached photo. Upon receipt, 4.4.2 was installed instead. No where in the listing was the upgrade mentioned. The seller contends that Verizon automatically upgrades the phone and they are not responciple.

I don't think so. I understood you had to ask for an upgrade by using the upgrade option in the phone; not that all of a sudden you had an upgrade without asking. There are thousands of us that do not want any part of Android 4.4.*.

The problem I'm having is, the seller has a 20% restocking fee. I disagree. The listing is incorrect.

TWRP interfering ith OTA updates? topic

Yesterday I decided to finally update OTA to 4.4.4 - I was on 4.4.2. It downloaded ok, then I tap install , it starts, then reboots, appears the Android green robot and a line that starts working then TWRP shuts the process and appears showing their options. Result, I restart my phone, and the OTA update says "Update failed"
Why is happening this? I wouldn't wan't to uninstall TWRP bu I think is the only solution? Or going back to CWM.
I Use Phliz files to install recovery but for ZL he only offers both recovery options, I cannot find a new link/post on how install CMW ONLY on ZL.

Any help? ALso I have no idea how to uninstall the recovery, but I will look into that.

Play store not working after app updates topic

I had some app updates today so started them going but after a couple it crashed and since then I haven't been able to open the Play Store. Even after clearing the dalvik-cache and rebooting, I get popups saying it's crashed as soon as it finishes booting and if I try to open it, so I've got no way of getting into it.

Anyone know how to fix this rather major problem?

So basicly i unlocked my bootloader flashed custom rom(cyanogen mod)i was boren from cyanogen and back to stock with my recovery backup that i made before i flash the custom rom...Today i got update to install lolipop,downloaded the file it asked me would i like to instaal it so i click install..The phone reset(like always when i update)but it went to recovery and the update didnt start..So i was thinking hmm maybe it wont update becauuse the bootloader is unloceld so i relocked the booloader and when i am trying to install the update it goes to fastboot...So i dont know why i cant install it
--Does anyone have idea that is the problem how to solve it?

BLUF: How do I get OTA updates back

Good day. So I got my new Tab Pro 8.4 (SM-T320) a while ago and immediately threw CM 11 on it. Everything was working fine until I tried to do an update around middle of January at which time something went severely haywire and I almost bricked my device. I finally pulled a stock ROM off Sammobile and got my device back to stock.

However, now I can't do over the air updates. I get the message: "Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available."

OTA Updates After Root topic

Hello Everyone,

I've been poking around on the forums and can't seem to find out how to disable the OTA updates on my AT&T N900. I rooted my device yesterday and received the OTA update today. I accidentally accepted accepted and lost root. Can anyone point me in the right direction to stop this notification?

The only reason I'm rooting is to fix the GPS issue. If there's another solution I wouldn't mind hearing that as well.

i have note 4 N910C, and once i started it, it received 2 updates from Samsung.

if i rooted it, will it receive any future updates or i have to install new ROM manually?

and is there any way to download the new updates only not the whole ROM??

CM12 updates fail topic

The last version of CM12 my nexus 6 is on is from January 28th. I decided to update to the latest nightly but it fails. Says zip checking fails. It does that for every nightly I download. I've tried the last 7 days updates. I'm currently downloading it on my PC and will xfer it to my device manually.

Anyone else experiencing this?
