I'm by no means an expert, but I have rooted/flashed ROMs on different phones the past few years. This has been my first time running into a phone where the ROMs are picky on which bootloader or radios are installed beforehand. The bootloader/bootstack I understand , but what about radios? Aside from different ROMs requiring certain radio versions, what's the real difference between 12b and 27a? Better signal from towers? Better Lte connectivity?

[Q] what's the difference between carriers versions of the same Lollipop? topic
I've got an unlocked gsm h8 that I'm using on the german o2 network. When I bought the phone, I thought that "unlocked" is the equivalent of "unbranded". However, after the Lollipop update I noticed that I got the T-Mobile version of the OTA, 4.19.111.2. Indeed, the CID of the phone is T-MOB101.
There is no obvious bloat on the phone, unless you count fm radio. But perhaps I just don't know what is there from the Telekom and what's from HTC. Moreover, other carriers, for example O2 seem to have the "higher" ROM version numbers, 4.20.xxx.x. What is the difference betwern them? Is there any point on spending time and effort to switch the CID and convert from T-Mobile to O2 or any other version? Is the "truly unbranded" version 4.16.xxx.x any different? They all seem to be Android 5.0.1, but then what do those numbers in ROM versions stand for?

[Q] Can APN settings now be edited on Lollipop versions? topic
I purchased this phone on eBay for use on a non-Verizon network (Rogers). Unfortunately, it seems that since the 4.4.3 OTA, APN settings cannot be manually entered, and the network preference list does not work with my SIM card (says it's full with 0 items, exactly like this). I've done a lot of reading, and I've seen lots of people complaining about the same issue, but it seems no solution has been found. Yes, I've flashed custom ROMs like ViperOneM8. I even tried editing build.prop as shown in a very old post here but that also failed. I also even tried to open the SQLite database to edit it manually, but had no luck there either.
SO now I'm wondering if the new OTA has re-enabled this (I doubt it, but I want to ask before I re-sell the phone!).

[Q] Is Sprint the reason I can't view desktop versions of web-pages? topic
I heard that the proxies Sprint puts your connections though are designed to compress and minimize data usage, things like replacing your browser's user string so it forces mobile versions of pages and so on.
Just about no page works when I choose to view the Desktop version of a page in FireFox, Chrome, or the stock browser, I still get the mobile version. The only thing that works is if the webpage itself has an option to display the mobile version.
So first of all, is Sprint the reason for this? And if so... well, I already attempted several things I Googled to fix it, none worked.
Pretty much everything mentioned getting into my EPST settings to disable the Sprint proxy.... but all of these are from 2012 or so, and it seems something had chanced since then.
It told me to go to the DSS settings and set my proxy and ip to 0, which I did.
It told me to disable reverse tunneling, which I did.
And it as well as most other guides told me to enter the RSTP/HTTP settings and set the proxy IP and port to 0, although I only saw an option for RSTP, not HTTP.
I did all of those (Minus the HTTP one since I couldn't find it anywhere) and still nothing, I only get mobile versions. Everything I tried to Google about it was three years old and just told me to do the RSTP/HTTP settings, a few also mentioned the DSS and reverse tunneling, but nothing had any new information.
