Is there a way to customize softkeys ? Im rooted, on stock everything running lollipop. I tried to softkeyz app but it did not work

Hello,

I've got (had) an SM-G900W8 running the XtreStoLite v2.0 LP BETA5 ROM on the XXU1BOA3 kernel. I installed TWRP 2.7 via Odin, and left the latest modem and bootloader updates I got through KIES3.

At which point I got the chance to sell the handset on Kijiji, provided I could get the stock ROM back on.

I downloaded the latest Odin (3.09) and the correct Firmware for my handset from sam mobile, and factory reset the device. I pulled the battery, let it sit, and tried to flash once I got it back up in download mode, and it wouldn't work.

This isn't too much of a surprise to me, because since I flashed TWRP, Odin hasn't ever worked for me. Regardless of how many times I've tried to flash the modem and/or BL that XtreStoLite asked me to use in their how to thread, it wouldn't work. I was willing to ignore it b/c the ROM worked with the modem and BL it was running.

My problem is that once I tried to reboot, the system hung at the BL animation. I went back into recovery, and tried to move my backups off my external storage (I had 2 back ups that were about 2 or 3 gigs each, too much for the local storage) to the local card and restore (b/c TWRP won't restore from the external card) and the back ups failed.

Now I've got the BL screen, but it won't advance to the animation, and it won't boot to TWRP either.

I tried to restore from KEIS, but it says my device isn't supported by KIES 3 (it is). I could really use a hand here. Every time I try something this gets worse. I'm no pro, but I've had no problem figuring this out on my old HTC handsets.

H-mobile f1, soft bricked after success root... topic

Hello everyone.

I got a H-Mobile F1 phone and i did a factory reset, then. Tried to apply root with Unlockroot PRO, it finished saying "SUCCESS" phone restarted and it keeps on bootloap "H-MOBILE" and i can't fix that. I have Downloaded the stock firmware but i can't flash those .img, since on computer is not recognized by the PC, it says "CDC SERIAL" and adb/fastboot can't work since it do not appear on device list.
Also the update.zip from the stock firmware, keeps in stuck at 40% when i apply the update on stock recovery, or also it restarts the phone without success... this sux u.u. Anyone can help please?

Note: i have tried installing adb drivers, google, mtk, and others without work.

[Q] Capacitive Buttons Stopped working, Help installing soft keys topic

Hi my Telstra HTC one XL has had its capacitive keys stop working over the weekend. Before I attempt any hardware fix I had hoped
to enable the default android stock keys so that the phone is still usable.

Thus far I have unlocked using HTC dev.
Installed TWRP
Gained root by flashing SU
Used Rumrunner to for S-Off

I have then attempted to change the build.prop to add qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Upon restarting the device this did not work.
I then tried SB buttons (root) from the play store and another by a similar name
these also did not work.

Is it possible to enable the softkeys on the stock ROM?

At this point I am just looking for a usable phone so I am trying to install Cyanogen mod (taking forever because I forgot Gapps and now have to download that) in the hopes I might have more success there.
However I would like to stick with stock sense or a sense like ROM if this is possible. (I like the camera and have grown used to the look and feel).

Noob needs help please! (soft bricked M8) topic

Hello guys,

I really hope you clever folks can help me out. I have a HTC M8 (UK O2, CID O2---001) That I had rooted and I wanted to OTA update it. I flashed a stock recovery to it etc but the update kept failing due to what I believe was the Harman Kardon mod.

To get around this I did an RUU firmware install, put OTA update on SD card and tried to update from stock recovery but the update keeps failing. :crying:

I really do not know what to do, if anyone can suggest a way to update with stock firmware or suggest a custom rom I can flash that will work with UK O2 M8 I will be so incredibly grateful!!

GP 2 soft brick , TOT and KDZ not working topic

My device was on Future V3.1(Lollipop). I flashed a recovery for 5.0 and installed Drake V1. All went well but model number changed to D838 . I again flashed same recovery in Drake v1 and flashed this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g...-d838-t2979376. As per title it is for D838 but someone had commented that it is working fine in his F350. After flashing once i tried to boot the device it refused , after LG logo it showed security error and switched off. Recovery actions so far done by me:-
1. Downloaded latest kdz for F350S20b(Lollipop kdz since v10e is not available on web) , flashed it via LG flashtool 2014 but flashing interrupts at 2%
2. Downloaded tot and dll for v10e eidted tot using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g...9#post59010479 but it gives cross dl error.
3. Ph shows USER SO.O ASO.O B99 UHSS LG-D838 04.4.2 Hrev_10 D83810F at screen at the time of flshing tot.

I have tried all possible methods only option left is to flash D838 tot file in it :eek:. I just want to know is it safe to do so and what is going to be appropriate tot file for that. Moreover any other helpful option will be highly appreciated.

[Q] Navigation Icons (Soft Keys) changed somehow topic

This is gonna end up sound like a stupid easy fix, but I have searched everywhere and cannot find a way to change the look of the icons.


For one, the button on the left change from "Recents" to some stupid "Flip between two apps you used" that is getting really frustrating.

And two, the icons of the buttons themselves changed somehow. How does one change it back to the regular ones? I am using Resurrection Remix rom and Nova Launcher

Acer A1-830 stuck in boot loop soft bricked..... topic

Okay i have an A1-830 & was installing a game, made a couple of modifications & now i have a soft bricked device.
I was installing Gangstar Rio & made some changes to try & get it to run as the minimum specs, my device had to run it but @ 1st it stated that the license was invalid so i changed the date backa year on advice from someone & it worked but then it stated that the device was incompatible, so i researched & found that was happening to most with devices that should have ran it but someone had advised to make some change to the 'batch.prop' file to fool the game to think it was a different device. I may have accidentally changed something in the batch file that caused this. i can't be certain but yeh, when i rebooted my tablet it got stuck @ the Acer logo in bootloop.
I tried recovery & did a factory reset & it acted like it was working but when i rebooted my device it still bootlooped. I then did some research & i tried to flash the stock rom but got errors each time i tried. i'll list the errors below;
i started off trying to flash the 'system.gz' file as follows;

[Q] Bounty($50) Need Photos/videos off of Internal Mem - Soft Bricked Galaxy S3 topic

Help, I have irreplaceable photos and videos of my 1 year old son (including his first steps) on the internal mem data partition, don't want to lose them.

I unfortunately soft bricked my Galaxy S3 (Sprint) after forgetting it was rooted and hitting yes to an android update... stupid on my part. It currently sticks on the Samsung Galaxy S3 boot logo and yes I can enter into odin mode & recovery mode.

Is there a way to ssh into the phone or mount the internal data so I can copy off the media? Or unbrick it while still preserving my photo/video data? I'm very well versed in terminal / linux and I also have both OS X and Windows 7.

If someone can actually solve this, I have no issues giving you through PayPal as a thank you.

Not sure what version of Android it was attempting to upgrade to, I'm assuming it was Lollipop (or whatever is the latest for GS3 on Sprint).

Tablet soft brick? topic

Hi, I got a new tablet called E-BODA Izzycomm Z80.
It came with a buggy OS and even the reseller (E-BODA, romanian rebrander, as the tablet is chinese) recommended updating the OS, Android 4.4.
I followed all the instructions. installed required drivers (for MTK) and with the SPFlashTool, but after selecting the scatter, pressing download button and connecting the usb cable, nothing happened - it didn't start doing anything even after waiting.
In the end, i have no idea what happened, but my tablet now will not start/charge.
But, when i connect it to the pc (windows 8.1) it makes the new device sound and i can see it in the device manager. but after a while, 6-7-10min it's icon get's that yellow exclamation mark saying that "This device cannot start"

It doesn't seem to be a "hard brick". Any ideas?

[Q] How to install ROM or Firmware on LG F160L Korean mobile [soft briked] topic

I have LG F160L Korean mobile it was working fine but 5 days ago some app was updated from google play store automatically then suddenly com.google.android.gsf app starting crashed. Not remember gsf or fgsf but it is confirmed it was google android app. Now I don't know it was due to my installed app when it was updated or some thing else. I clicked many times OK but it does not stop. I restarted my phone but it never starts Android OS. When my phone was OK I check in Settings -> About Phone -> model it shows me F160K but on phone back after cover removing it is written F160L.

My Phone Current Condition:
It shows in korean language. May be asking security code

What I have tried

• I have tried Automatically Flashing the Latest Stock Firmware via the LGMobile Support Tool that downloads firmware and install but when S/W upgrading is in progress it stops after 10% :(


• I have tried to install ROM from KDZ flasher it gives error after iPram = 10 KDZ downloaded from lg-phone-firmware dot com for LG F160L :(


• I have tried by downloaded zip file for LG F160L and copying in SD Card and by going inside ClockworkMod after inserting SD Card in phone then install from External SD Card by this method it installs successfully but phone is still in that condition that It was before installing. I tried wipe data, cache and dalvik after installing from SD Card as well :crying:


• I actully 4 times wiped data, cache, dalvik


• I also did Hard Reset by press this buttom combination Volume Down + Home + Power

There is also one strange thing when I tries to download driver on Windows 7 by connecting phone with PC in Download Mode and in Recovery Mode it installed correct drivers But when I tries to download driver in ClockworkMod it starts installing LG F200L Drivers. :eek:

I tried to wipe recovery but could't wipe because I can't see my device in when I run this command fastboot devices

What should I do?
Should I try another method with LG F160L KDZ file ?
Should I try with LG F160K KDZ or Zip from SD card?
Should I try with LG F200L KSZ or Zip from SC card?
Should I try to install ClockworkMod again due to mount error if yes then Which method should I try? LG F160 L is not listed in ClockworkMod Website

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 Boot loop (soft brick?) topic

Hello all, I recently had a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100, I installed CM11 on it, but It had some bugs, and I bought Galaxy Alpha, so I wanted to give it to my mother, but since she is used to TouchWiz phones, I installed 4.1.2 JB ROM, but device is stuck on boot loop because flash failed? I want to get into recovery, but I have a bit of problem..... , I dropped my phone 4 weeks before this happened, and I replaced shattered screen, but unfortunately I lost power button, and that metal plate is destroyed by pencil I used to lock the device, now I can't boot into recovery, tired combo with download mode reset and vol up + home button, nothing, just samsung logo and boot loop continues, so I tried with adb, but devices recovery is not supported, because I flashed CMR 6.0.5 (that is newest version for GT-I9100) but black screen on boot appeared, so I finally flashed stock rom for the last time 5 hrs ago and nothing, evrything is stock and chache memory also dalvik chache is not deleted, so how can I delete that so I can finally turn device on and set it up? Im not pro\ with Android, just enthusiast so I am mad on myself for doing that, I do not want to waste working device, just how can I delete chache, or can I even fix the phone??
