OK. The Galaxy S6 edge rocks. topic

(It's not the note 4 but I think it's relevant here; are you gonna get it?)

We're up and the hall is PACKED. Everyone is on their devices.

A woman in tight business suit and high heels comes on stage and welcomes CEO. He has the phone in his his pocket.

Relentless Innovation. We listened, we learned, we pushed forward. We rebuilt from the ground up. The most beautiful phone Samsung have ever produced and the most advanced one in the world.

The screens that go the ENTIRE way around the hall burst into life, aaaaand....

The pictures are exactly as leaked!

As has been the discussion all week, it's the curve that they're pushing - and yes, it's gorgeous. The detail is seamless.

It remains to be seen what they're going to do with the none-curved version.

The pricing will dictate whether or not the S6 flies off the shelf - and it's availability.

I think they should have released just the curve.

There you have it.

The curve is gorgeous. Absolutely. The detail is very precise. The plain S6 is plain ugly.

And the light-up notifications thing on the edge is tickling ALL the journalists.

Will you stick to the Note 4, or switch?

Let the games begin.

[Q] Moto G shown as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM6) topic

Hey,
I have a huge problem with my phone right now. When I made a software update from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 my phone shutted down while being in recovery and installing the new software. It shutted down, because the battery was low.
So now if I connect my phone to my computer, my computer detects it as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM6).
I already tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto...oto-g-t2833798
But when I open the flash-blank.bat I get this message: FAILED (blank-flash:greet-device:error reading packet)

The whole log:

[Q] Is there a way to enable non intrusive call UI in sense roms? topic

Hi I'm currently on sense 6 (kitkat 4.4.4) and I'm planning to update to lollipop (I was hoping they would release sense 7 sooner but.. yeah..) anyways. I didn't find a mod or an easy way to enable non intrusive call UI interface on sense ROM, so if someone knows something that I don't know please.. I'm all ears.

MWC released phones topic

Don't get me wrong, I really do enjoy my LG G3. I cant help but to want the new HTC One M9. I was debating between the G3 and the M8 earlier during the year, but went with the G3 because of the better camera. The M9 camera should be up to par and the material they use are much better. What did you guys think of the phones released today? Im just curious and wanting to start a new conversation.

Quick charge 2.0 topic

With qualcom quick change coming out, I'm wondering if it's possible to port the battery settings from the Z3 to work with our Z1's. Would it just be a case of copying from a Z3 rom or would it need tweaking? If at all possible.

[APP][4+] SMS Reader topic

SMS Reader is my first android application, it uses the TTS engine on your phone to read incoming SMS as well as messages from the inbox.
I find it very useful when I am driving, running, or even while in the shower, so I don't have to reach for the phone everytime I get a message. People with low sight or even blind may also find it useful, even better with a headset.
Unlike other similar application, it has a clean and simple UI, it supports mono BT devices well and it is designed to be activated or desactivated from other applications, such as Llama, using broadcast intents.
Since v1.1.0 it comes with a widget so you can toggle the service from the homescreen and even lockscreen if using Android 5+.

Main functionnalities:
- Reads incoming messages when activated
- Reads received messages
- Widget available to toggle the service
- Integrated help
- Public intents to activate or deactivate the service from another application

Settings:
- Can be activated on boot
- Can displays the content of the message in a popup, even over lockscreen, leaving the user to choose between reading or dismissing
- Can announce the sender name / number
- Can be muted while a phonecall is active
- Can change the speech rate and language of the TTS engine
- Can change the theme between dark and light (still working on integrating Material Design)
- Can adjust the font size of the message list

Hope you'll find it useful :)

PS: While it can be installed on tablets and work without telephony, it won't do much unless the tablet can receive SMS. It was enabled in order to test the application compatibility with large screen and multi-panes.
PPS: For now it is only in english and french, I plan on adding more languages as soon as I find friends who are fluent in english and a language I miss :)

Moto G xt1039 is completely unfix-able? topic

Hey, I'm new to this forum, I just signed up so I could ask a question real quick.

I've tried to put a custom ROM on my phone, and I keep getting errors all the time. I have been trying to fix it for 3 days straight now, nearly tried every guide on the internet. The problem is; when I boot up the phone, it boot into fastboot automatically. No matter what I do, it always does this, OR, gets stuck on the boot screen. I really don't know why I can't install a custom rom... the zip will install fine through clockwork but when I reboot the phone it just goes back into fastboot. "AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)".

I tried this as well. I get a preflash validation failed for gpt?

Code:

mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk1
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk2
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk3
mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot erase cache

Long story short: My phone won't boot any ROM. What can I do to fix it?

Samsung S6 VR2 topic

The announcement this morning looks like they have fixed the screen door effect on the new Gear VR2 for Samsung S6. Some of the other new features are outlined below such as comfort and ability to charge while using the VR! The new inprovements look great but it kinda makes me feel like us original Note 4 users are gonna get left behind with all new improvements created for the new S6. What is everyone's thoughts on this? Worth upgrading from the Note 4 for this or do you think the screen door effect will still exist?

[Q] What's the highest MHL vid bitrate on n4 topic

Hey people,

i just got my note today and so far the phone is awesome. I just have one question at this time: how much bitrate can the mhl connection (and the phone itself) handle?
I'm asking because i have a fetish of watching bluray rips (OF MOVIES! Don't let your mind run wild.) that aren't downscaled, so the size of the rip is ~40-ish gb and the video bitrate is 30.000 kbps or so. Hence, i'm wondering if the MHL and the phone can do it...

anyone can give me some info?

Unable to delete residual files topic

I'm using a rooted device with root browser and need to delete certain residual files of an app.

The path is data/rallsd. I need to delete this entire rallsd folder together with the residual files inside, but unfortunately despite the system message shows that it was deleted,it actually failed to delete it.

I checked the permission of the rallsd folder and it was all ok.
I tried to move the entire rallsd folder to my external sd card to delete it. Unfortunately, instead of moving it, it was actually duplicated to the external sd card, despite that I actually clicked to move. However, surprisingly I am able to delete the rallsd folder that is duplicated to the external sd card.

What I want to ask now is,is there any apps or way to force delete the mentioned folder?

[Q] D80110G OTA phone working but NO download mode No recovery topic

Hello everyone,
Started from D80110C (stock using download mode), rooted, took all the OTAs till D80110G. Then, on top of that, I received another OTA for 300Mb. I wasn't sure what it was. I finally decided to taking it. BIG MISTAKE!!! root was gone. Tried Towelroot and Root25 and Root10, all failing with D80110G.

So I said, easy, lets go back to stock D80110C. Surprise: download mode is gone. Every time I follow volume key sequence (tried the all) phone shows charging icon instead of download mode.
And recovery mode? only shows Factory Reset (which I already tried...)

I read that some people were able to use the LG Maintenance tool and choose "Update Recovery". Tried that: to me shows "Nothing to fix".

In other words, I'm stuck. Phone works fine (which is great), but I'm afraid I will never be able to do any upgrade since both download method and recovery method seems to be gone. Question is: will the next OTA work?

Any ideas? I read about the Linux method of overwriting the images. Pretty scary, since the phone still works I'd think something else should be available.
It could be worse, the phone is working, still I hate being without options...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Gwatch topic

How to connect a LG gwatch to our device? I'm using cm11 R20 with xelerate kernel.

Downgraded from 5.0.2 to 4.4.4, want 5.0.2 back topic

I had Lollipop and after doing a reset, it was stuck on boot animation. I have successfully downgraded to stock 4.4.4 using fastboot and I didn't flash gpt.bin, motoboot.img and logo.bin while doing so.

Now I want Lollipop again but I don't know what should I do-- whether to simply place the OTA on SD card and get it detected or flashing the TWRP-flashable LP zip? I wonder if following the native OTA method will brick the phone, I'm scared.

Please help :(

MiniDLNA/BubbleUPNP/Chromecast topic

Hi All,

I've build myself a new NAS on the HP Proliant Microserver platform, wanted to replace my ageing Netgear ReadyNAS with something a little more modern. Thus far I have CentOS 7 installed with a 4TB Raid10 volume for my media, MiniDLNA as the media server and BubbleUPNP for on-the-fly transcoding. The specs of the Microserver are relatively meager with a dual core Celeron (2.3GHz) and 4GB RAM.

I had hoped that this would be sufficient for any on-the-fly transcoding has I have old video of the kids etc on .AVI taken with a handycam.

Films play fine on the Chromecast as no transcoding is needed, but when I play AVI I've noted that the playback is stuttery. I've also noticed that the old footage taken on the handycam will not play at all. BubbleUPNP says that it is playing and counts down the time ... but all I get on my renderer is a black screen.

OS: CentOS 7
MiniDNLA: v1.1.4
BubbleUPNP: v0.8.2

Questions:

Should the hardware spec of my Microserver not be enough for transcoding on-the-fly from AVI?

Any clues as to why the handycam video does not play. I get no errors from BubbleUPNP ... just a black screen on the TV (Sony KDL-46EX653)

Cheers,
Ripface.

Antenna Modification? topic

I have been searching around the interwebs to no avail. I was wondering if anyone has modified the Nexus 7 2nd gen to have SMA connectors for the GPS/WiFi antennas similar to what has been done on the original Nexus 7? Or if anyone could point me to where the pins are and which is the ground/positive pins for both antennas, I could pick it up from there? Thanks!

[Q] Randomly Rebooting One X topic

Hi been using viper x for a couple of years on both of our phones - love it, awesome rom, never had a single issue. However my wife's phone has now developed a strange problem, initially it stopped charging and started randomly rebooting. I've had the USB port fixed last week and it's charging fine now, but still rebooting. The techy guy who fixed the USB says there's no sign of anything been wrong internally (could argue he's bound to say that)

I've tried factory reset, full wipe and reflash, running in safe mode and removing all user apps, including xposed framework. It doesn't seem as bad, but it is still rebooting and I'm out of ideas. The phone is running stock kernel.

Can anyone lend a hand and come up with what could be wrong?

[Q] Note 2 MHL problem. Help... Please... topic

I have a Note 2 to wich I bought an unofficial MHL (it's a red cable with the three conections, USB for power, HDMI for the TV and the micro USB for the phone), and well it claims to be compatuble with the Note 2, but I don't get an image on my TV, and the phone just charges. I've seen that the message "HDMI Connected" should appear in the bottom, but it doesn't. I lone the cable to my brother, and he tried it on his Note 2, and the same happened, untill, (since he is rooted) got an app called Second Screen or something like that, and the phone was then being mirrored to the TV, so i know the cable works, and yes I am aware of the 5, 7, 11, pin cables. If the cable worked on my brothers rooted Note 2, then it must be a compatible 11 pin, shouldnt it. We are both on 4.3 Jellybean, but i am not rooted, the only reason my brothers phone is, its because he baught it from a guy who was selling it.
What i've tried:
Followed the "steps" of connecting it 1. HDMI to TV, 2. Power supply, 3. Connect to phone.
3 diffrent TV's
The useless Screen Mirroring Patch released by Samsung (wich actually after installing the patched and restarted my phone for X reason, i had to patch it again...)
That Second Screen app my bro has, and yes I knew it wasn't gonna work.

Any solutions? Other than having to buy another MHL, but if i have to then i guess ill get an official Samsung one. And root... im limited to it, I've only rooted my HTC Evo, but because i had a new phone.... I don't want to root my Note 2 in fear of messing it up...

[Q] Sony Smartwatch 3 Swr50. Need help, Trying to setup watch for checking MPH.. topic

I just got this watch 3 days ago, Sony smartwatch 3, for the reason it had its own standalone GPS reciever. I work for the railroad running trains. And can't have my smartphone on me. So I'm looking to setup my watch for checking the speedometer on the train. Specifically MPH, with a satellite accuracy mark as well.. All the apps I've been trying only work when my phone is on and connected with its GPS on. Anyone know of any androidwe apps that will work for me? Thanks!

[Q] More Storage Issues topic

I still have yet to fix my issue with storage. For some reason I have no Phone storage left, but almost all of my SD card storage is still empty. I thought that pictures and stuff were supposed to be stored on SD card.. or am I wrong??
Well that is not my major issue at the moment. I am actually having a problem with "write-protection"
I plugged my phone into my PC so that I can move my pictures and videos and stuff over to my SD card...
So i put my device USB Connection as a "camera (PTP)"
I found my photos, moved them to the SD card... and I wanted to delete them from the Phone Storage and when I try to delete a folder or file or anything from Phone Storage, it says "can not delete, the storage is write-protected"...
I have heard of it doing this when trying to delete from SD card... but why is m y phone saying that when I am trying to delete form the Phone Storage??
Can someone please help me out with this? I would appreciate it.. Thanks Guys!!

[G800F][ROM][5.0.2][LRX22G] CyanogenMod 12.0 for G800F [Alpha 01/03/2015] topic

This is a CyanogenMod 12 ROM for the Exynos3470 based Samsung Galaxy S5 mini (G800F).

DO NOT USE IT FOR THE QUALCOMM SNAPDRAGON BASED S5 mini variants (G800H/M/...) OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE
Although G800F and G800H share the same name they are not related in terms of hardware due to the different SoCs used (Exynos vs. Snapdragon).
Hence please do not ask for support or ROMs for the G800H or G800M here.

Working features
  • Receiving and making calls

  • Hardware sensors (Light, Orientation, Compass, Proximity, Acceleration)

  • Audio

  • Bluetooth

  • Wifi

  • HW accelerated GUI

  • USB-OTG (Keyboard, Mouse, USB-Audio, Mass-Storage)

  • Camera (pictures+video: Back+Front)

  • MTP storage

  • IR

  • GPS

  • NFC

Non-working features:
  • Fingerprint scanner (no app for tests found)

  • Pulse sensor + Step counter (no app for tests found)

  • SELinux

Disclaimer:
  • You flash this image at your own responsibility. I am not responsible for any damage that might be caused by flashing this image (bricked device, lost data, ...)

  • Flashing this kernel image will trigger the KNOX counter, so your warranty will be void.

  • The image is only for S5 Mini SM-G800F (Exynos)

  • It might be instable, crash your device, drain your battery, or even might damage your smartphone (e.g. if an USB-OTG device drains too much power)

  • Backup your data before flashing and check if the original firmware is present (e.g. at SamMobile)

Before you start:
  • Backup your data, like call history, contacts, sms, WhatsApp messages, favourite app settings that are on internal and external sd (by using Titanium Backup or other apps available on PlayStore). At least all internal data will be lost in any case. If you have bad luck you might also loose data from your external sd card.

Download:
Install recovery:
  • Reboot your device into Odin mode: turn off your device, then press Volume-Down + Home + Power button at the same time and release them.

  • Confirm the following warning message with the Volume-Up button.

  • Connect your device to your PC via USB

  • Make sure the device driver's are installed on your PC

  • Start Odin

  • In Odin select PDA and select the recover image (recovery.tar.md5)

  • Check that only "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" is set

  • Click on "Start": the kernel image should be flashed now and the device should reboot afterwards. By flashing the recovery, your warranty will be void.

  • After the recovery flashing process was successful, power of your device. If not restart into Download mode and flash again or flash the stock rom.

Flash CM12:
  • Reboot into recovery mode (Press Volume-Up + Home + Power button)

  • If you come from a stock rom, this is your opportunity to make a Backup of your phone(Backup, then select Boot, System, Data, then swipe to backup). Note that the recovery might fail to restore the backup when you want to go back to the stock ROM (for me it got stuck after a restore during boot, but I made the backup with a different TWRP version, so it might work in general) - so do not expect to much of it atm.

  • If you haven't copied the installation files yet, you can now copy the GApps and CM12 zip to your internal sd or external sd (be careful not to put the files into the data directory of the internal sd card as this will be deleted in the next step). Be sure that MTP is enabled (inside Mounts, click on Enable MTP), then, from your pc, copy the files. If MTP does not work from recovery, try it directly from Android or remove the external sd card from the phone and put it into your PC.

  • Wipe Dalvik Cache, Cache, System and Data (inside Wipe -> Advanced Wipe)

  • Install the CM12 rom zip-package

  • Install the GApps zip-package

  • Reboot the system and enjoy a Lollipop

In case you want to go back to the stock ROM:
  • lf you do not have the latest ROM for the G800F you can download it from SamMobile

  • Reboot your phone into Odin mode

  • Open Odin on your PC and connect your smartphone with your PC via USB

  • If you have a zip-file unzip it so that you have a .tar.md5 file

  • In Odin click on the PDA button and select the .tar.md5 file. Then press "Start".

  • Normally the stock rom fails to boot as the data from CM12 is still on the data partition. So after flashing the stock rom, reboot into recovery mode (it looks a bit different now). First wipe the data partition, then wipe the cache.

  • Reboot

Samsung seriously needs an english speaker WTF topic

I love samsung to death because they deserve it bringing year after year, great products. But their speakers are freakin bad. JK Shin had a great speech, I agree but at a snails pace.... And the other chick needs some serious pronunciation lessons. WTF samsung hire some damn speakers. It seriously takes away from the product announcement.

[Q] Galaxy S4 doesn't show up in odin! topic

Ok, I have the sgh-i337m, found a nifty lollipop rom and downloaded and flashed it, everything's good. On that rom in the settings>about section, it said the model number was the i9505g, and I just assumed they were basically the same phone. I decided I wanted to try MIUI again, and looked on their site. I couldn't find one for the i337m, so i downloaded the i9505 version. Flashed it and whatnot, and it gets stuck on the booting animation. I thought okay no big deal, and tried restoring my lollipop rom. The restore looked like everything went well (the lollipop boot animation was playing), but it never booted up. I left it for hours. I thought ok time to cut my losses and downloaded a stock sasktel i337m firmware and fired up odin and download mode, and it isnt showing up on odin now and i'm realizing im an idiot. Also, it says 'Write Protection: Enabled' while in download mode, if that means anything. Anyone had this issue? Please tell me my phone isn't dead just yet. If you have any other questions about it, just ask, I'll be sitting at home all day bashing my head on my phone until it boots up.

New Edge Mustang Nexus 7 Install topic

Hello all, I am new to this forum. I brought my thread over here because on the forums I post on normally for my car they seem to have 0 interest in the subject. My goal is to receive help from you guys, as well as maybe help any of you out! So to start off with a little history of the car. The car is a 2004 Mustang with non-mach stereo. I Currently have a single din radio and 2 amps (1 for door speakers, other for 2 12" subs), and all upgraded speakers and wiring. I have always wanted a touch screen radio and navigation, so that i did not have to use my phone the whole time while driving. I was looking into pioneers and alpine double dins, but for the features i wanted i couldn't justify spending 1200 bucks. So that left me at the same place i started at. I started browsing tablet installs when i discovered one of the guys i follow on instagram put a Ipad Mini into his dash. This really got me thinking about what i could do, so after about 6 months of juggling the idea, and doing some heavy research about which tablet to use and which Roms were best for in-car installation i found the Nexus 7. And that Triggered this build, which i will regularly update as the build goes on.

So to start off this is the list of stuff that i will need or have acquired, acquired is marked with blue, and will also have the price and total at the end. Items that have unknown prices are ones that i have not decided what to get or cant find what i want.

Need/Have:
- Nexus 7 2013 (32gb) (115.00 - Staples)
- Timurs Rom (28.94 - Donation)
- Clarion EQS746 (54.49 - Amazon)
- Behringer UCA202 USB DAC (29.99 - Amazon)
- 2X DC-DC Converter Module 12V To 5V 3A 15W Double USB Output Power Adapter (11.99 Ebay)

- USB Hub - Powered (unknown)
- Back-Up Camera (16.87 - Ebay)
- Easy Cap (Unknown)
- FM transmitter (Unknown)
- PlexiGlass (21.99 - Lowes)
- RCA Cables (6.99 - Radioshack)
- Right Angle OTG Cable Adapter (4.99 - Amazon)
- OTG Cable with Power (3.99 - Amazon)
- Micro USB to USB (6.98 - Amazon) Need this to connect the right angle to the OTG cable
- Metra 95-5026 Double DIN Installation Kit (9.29 - Amazon) Need this for parts of the mounting method
- Metra 70-5520 Wiring Harness (4.49 - Amazon) This is to connect power
- Hard Snap on Case (4.29 - Amazon) Part of Mounting Method

Total Price: 0.20

This list is for stuff previous to nexus 7 install/as well as some apps for in dash installation:
Hifonics Hfi1000.1d (129.99 - Amazon)
Hifonics ZRX600.4 (93.00 - Amazon)
LI12D4 - Incriminator Audio 12" x 2 (508.00 - Amazon)
Beautiful Widgets Pro (3.63 - Play Store)
Tasker (2.99 - Play Store)
Nova Launcher Prime (4.00 - Play Store)
GMD Auto Hide Pro (2.49 - Play Store)

Total Price: 4.10 - Most of this is tied up up in speakers/amps.

I chose Timurs rom because of the dedicated support forums, and the amount of followers behind the build, This rom allows for fixed installation, which is most likely what ill be doing. It enables OTG so i can hook up a USB hub to it, and have access to back up camera, music storage, and also play audio through the DAC.

As far as mounting method for the tablet will be doing away with the radio completely and putting the tablet in its place like so (Imagine it behind the bezel lol)

For mounting I stumbled upon different ways that people have accomplished and didnt like any of them, most of them stayed out of the bezel, and the ones that were in the bezel were fixed and was not easy to remove.... then i found this build, i loved the idea of having it fixed, but then again easily removable if need be!
Subaru In-Car Install - Mounting

So that is when i started to build this!

It is pretty messy looking right now, but i will be painting it black so that it will blend with the case, and look like it is meant to be their.

I have a bunch of parts coming in the mail this week, that is the only thing that is holding up the In-Car process of the build.

I had a bunch of free time yesterday so i decided to start working on the UI for the tablet. I found a build that someone had done in a BMW that i really liked, and they even posted their PSD file for it. I began Chopping it to meet my own personal needs and build, and came up with this!

On the Tablet side, i just used it as a background and created invisible widgets that were placed onto the "Icon" and directly linked to the corresponding app. After i got all of that worked out, and added some widgets to the screen and removed the navigation bad i decided to work with tasker a little bit. I wanted the device to stimulate when power is off to key, and when power is on to key. So i created two different profiles and added task to each, they are as follows.

Power ON:
Airplane Mode - Disabled
Display Timeout - 23hrs
Display Brightness - 158
Popup - Welcome Back
Media Volume - Level 14 of 15
Bluetooth - ON
GPS - On
Wifi - On
Auto Sync - On

Power OFF:
Popup - Booting into Low Power Mode
Display Timeout - 15s
Wait 10s
Bluetooth - Off
Auto-Sync - Off
Wifi - Off
Music - Stop
Airplane Mode - On
TaskKill - Chrome/Maps/Pandora/Spotify/PowerAmp
Go Home

Some Video Action

I will update this regularly, if you have any questions comments or anything else please post below in fact i encourage it!

Also i am looking for ideas to install a Female input AUX into my Center Console for a factory look into the EQ, anyone know how?

[Q] Alps N9500 wont boot; neither bootloader, charging screen nor recovery works; topic

Dear Community,

as an amateur in the Android scene, I call for help.
This is an act of sheer desperation since I try to fix my phone (Alps N9500 MTK6589) for about 6 hours now..
A few months ago, I rooted my device via MTK Droid Root & Tools v2.5.3.
After a system crash of Android (4.2.1), my device is not able to boot up.

Symptoms: -The only reaction I get is a black screen. (backlights are on, but no screen content)

What i tried:
1. Neither the bootloader nor recovery mode will come up. .
2. Connection via adb worked fine
3. Tried to flash my device with the stock ROM -> Bootloop -> adb wont work at this state

Furthermore, I did a MemoryTest with SP Flash Tool v5.1352.01:
External RAM:
Type = DRAM
Size = 0x40000000 (1024MB/8192Mb)
NAND Flash:
ERROR: NAND Flash was not detected!
Could this be the problem?
(Unfortunately, I think the bootloop is something I messed up..)
I would be glad to see a solution for my problem and am very thankful for every contribution leading to the solution.

Sincerely,

An Android-Noob

Clear accuweather for lollipop? topic

Just wondering if anyone knows if we have a clear accuweather widget for any of the lollipop roms and if there is perhaps a little direction to the thread in question? Tried looking over on the 9005 forum and here and nothing seems to just pop out and look like what I am on the hunt for

[Q] droid razr shows white light topic

Hello,

I have an XT912 that just did something strange. I have not changed the operating system so it is still stock.

When I plug it in to a charger now the phone turns on a white light in front. Then does not turn on. Can anyone tell me if this is consistant with needing a new battery?

The charging port looks good, not damaged.

I have tried a couple of different chargers.

Plugged into the computer the light stays on.

I am charging it right now overnight to see if that will work since I read somewhere to try that. I do not feel the LCD is bad since on other phones I would at least get a vibrate when the phone is plugged in.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Where did the fastboot gone ? topic

Soo.... I have a WT19i, and installed the 4.0.4 after i got sick of the 2.3 but the battery always stuck at 100% and then randomly drops to 0...
So i try to install Cyanogenmod, but i can't because i can't get into fastboot...
At least i can, but my PC detect it as flash mode...
I press the Vol Up and connect the USB, the blue LED goes on, but the flashtool says: Device connected in flash mode...
I tried Vol Down also, then the Green LED goes on, and yeah "Device connected in Flash mode"

I reinstalled the Fastboot drivers but didnt helped...
Any suggestion ?

LCD dying with age topic

Anyone else notice a dim screen on their device? It was super bright when I first got it over a year ago. But recently I've been finding myself not able to read anything in daylight, so I decided to order a new phone because an LCD costs as much as a brand new phone. Here are the results:

2 year old Att i257m on left, week old Sprint l520 on right.

Flashed stock ROM back onto Att one last night thinking maybe the ROM failed on me but its just simply dimmer, by a lot. Anyone know how to look up the files that show current brightness levels?

[Q] Battery replacement for AT&T S3 topic

I'm sure this must have been covered years ago, but...I have a Galaxy 3 . Love it, but the battery is showing its age. I've checked this forum for battery threads, and the ultimate choice seems to be Anker 2200 mah. However, it appears it is no longer available anywhere. I don't necessarily want a larger capacity battery, and certainly don't want to have to replace the back panel of the phone. Are there any other really good replacement batteries out there? I see tons of them, all make in China, with fair to poor reviews. Any suggestions?

[Q] How to install recovery on rooted phone? topic

Hi

I just rooted my phone successfully with this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/g...stall-t3017056

I don't know what to do. The recovery tool link don't work and not quite sure what I should do in the first step of recovery.

Thanks in advance

Can a phone or tablet have different power requirements from what is on their charger topic

I'm an American and I will be in Japan for a few weeks soon and I intend to bring my Nexus 9. The USB wall adapter that came with it is rated for 100-240V and 50-60Hz. Japan uses 100V/50Hz so I know the adapter will be fine, but I'm not sure if there's possibly a different power requirement/tolerance for the tablet itself.

So my question is, if my power adapter (a typical wall outlet to USB type) can support Japanese power, is there any chance of my tablet not supporting it?

[q] best custom rom for xt1068 topic

after flashing all the custom ROMs in my XT1068 I found that the Titan Prime from Shawn is the most stable and user friendly ROM out there.
Now if there is any other ROM which you think is better than TITAN PRIME please mention it in the comments because im really looking for a stable and bug free ROM for this device.

Scammed by Amazon , M8x Taiwan Version , Need your advice ( S-Off , Firmware , Wifi ) topic

Hello , Thank you for taking time to read and help me with my questions , recently i recived my M8 from Amazon , it was stated clearly that the phone is the international version , but after going through the infromation in the Hboot , it turned out to be a Taiwan version , with these information :

modelid: 0P6B11000
cidnum: HTC__621

I managed to get Hboot unlocked , flash custom recovery and HDR Rom , all is going good , but after going through the threads , i noticed that my Firmware is 4.16.709.9 , as it says OS_info : 4.16.709.9 in Hboot screen , and the ROM firmware is 4.16.401.10 , as most of the roms are.

So ,

1- do i have to flash 4.16.401.10 firmware to match the ROMS ?

2- Can i do that with out bricking my phone ?

3- if yes , then i have to S-Off right ? Sunshine says that it is not compatible with my phone , is that because i am on a custom rom ?

4- What will i gain from switching the firmware to 4.16.401.10 ?

5- THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION : Before i do any thing with my phone ( when it was fully stock ) , it had 5.0.1 Android , and i noticed a problem with few apps not being aible to connect to internet via Wifi some times , but they works perfectly if i use a VPN app , or if i use my 3G connection , i thought if i flash another rom it will be fixed , but no , it was not fixed , will flashing the 4.16.401.10 firmware solve this ? or is it a lollipop android problem ?

Thank you so much for your time ! i really appreciate your help
