[Q] What's wrong with my phone's display? topic

I got a new Galaxy s5, an update i was pretty happy with considering the last phone i had was a galaxy s2. I got relatively cheap, too (200 euros). Though, after i began using it more, i noticed that the display above where the keyboard should be is a bit dimmer than the keyboard section, and in white screens you can easily see permanent marks of the keyboard keys. Why are these pixels engraved in my screen? IS there a way to fix it without having to buy a new display? I was thinking about doing a dead pixel fix using an app/video, but i didn't want to cause anymore damage without some research first.

Landscape display glitches topic

Hey guys I have another strange problem on my n6. It seems that when I am in an app landscape half of the screen (bottom) turns black and sometimes flashes what it's supposed to be and will go back again. Scrolling makes it worse but I can tap through the black portion and highlight text and it will temporarily go away. It almost looks that the keyboard is trying to pop up but I've switched my keyboard and I can reproduce it in multiple apps

360 Charging issue - Display pulses on charger and does not advance topic

I got my 360 a couple of months ago and I had no issues with it at all until a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes it would stop charging at around 60%. Started happening more frequently and then I noticed when it had been on the charger for a while, the display would brighten and then dim and repeatedly pulse like this and quit charging. I only found one reference online about this and it suggested a problem with the internal charging hardware so I took it back to AT&T and exchanged it for a new one under warranty. The new one is doing the same thing so now I am wondering if it is a 5.0.2 issue but I am not seeing any outcry over it.

I am kind of at a loss as to what to do here. Looking for suggestions from other users. Have any of you heard of this problem and can point me in a direction for help? My next step is to contact Motorola but not looking forward to that.

[HELP] Network problem after installing new LCD Display topic

I recently bought a new LCD (LCD+Digitizer+Frame+buttons) from aliexpress for my Xperia Z. I disassembled the phone & installed the new display myself. It works perfectly. There's only one problem - it cannot connect to any network at all. The only time I get a signal (1-2 bars) is when I get out in the open. This is the same while in my car also. Other than this, everything else works perfectly (wifi, cameras, mic, earpiece, speaker, etc.)

I tried using the same sim in another phone (Galaxy Star S5282). It gets full signal, wherever I go. I also tried using my brother's sim in the Xperia but same results. His sim also works perfectly in all other phones.

I had disassembled it yesterday again & couldn't find where the fault was. The sim tray is fixed to the mainboard & there are no wires/flex cables to be connected.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

Moto Display / Active Display (See Moto E 2nd Gen) topic

So... it looks like Motorola came up with a way to utilize Moto Display on the 2nd Generation Moto E without an AMOLED screen - probably similar to how Peek works things. I wonder if they'll port that over to the Moto G 2nd Gen - or if they'll wait and stick it on a 3rd generation Moto G.

[Q][REQUEST] Moto Display or Active Display on CM12 based ROMs topic

Hey guys, I don't know how to port apps, and I'm starting at programming now, so, I see that Xda have awesome developers, and that we don't have the Active Display on non-stock based ROM's, I know that CM12 have Ambient Display, but I think the Moto Display is better, and I'm here to request one thing:

Please, some people have ported the Camera/Gallery apps to CM12, and someone maybe can do the port of MotoDisplay/Active Display. I know that porting is difficult, but there are awesome devs here, them can do a better work than me.

So, thanks for the awesome forum, if someone can do, please do this and post it. I know that all the Moto X users would love this. Peace✌. I hope that someone are going to do it.

[Q] Change the time that notifications display? topic

I find that notifications on Android Wear disappear way too quickly for me. I'd like to adjust the time they stay on screen before it reverts to my watch face. I searched for a long time to find any setting/app that will do this, but so far no luck.

I know some apps (like watch maker for example) allow smaller cards to be displayed over the watch face itself.... but these cards never disappear, which isn't ideal either.

Any other suggestions/ideas?

[Q] Additional adhesive glue for display topic

Hi all,
I've changed the display of my z1 compact. Change was not really complicated, but after two days I see that display glue is detaching. Particularly from the bottom right angle display is partially lifted.
I would like to buy another adhesive form for the display, detach and attach it again, but I have a question. Is there a way to add more glue in the middle of display maybe? when I detached the original one, my perception was that glue wasn't only on the boxer, but also in the middle. Is this feasible? or is possible to find a stronger glue than the one included in my replacement display?

[MotoX] [2014] Purple Display at Low Brightness [Lollipop] [Amoled] topic

Okay so I bought a new Moto X (2014) last week In India. Everything about the phone is great. It was already on lollipop. But when I decrease the brightness to below 30-40% the display gradually becomes more and more purple. And with Adaptive Brightness on and in a dark room, it's so purple that the green and yellow shades appear grey or black. I know amoled panels have this problem at very low brightness and apparently many Nexys 6 users are also facing it. However I didn't see many complaints here in the Moto X forum.
So if you have this problem please vote in the poll above. Then I can ask them for a replacement. Thank you.

LOST DISPLAY of phone. How to copy everything to a new phone? Please help!! topic

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Recently I dropped it and the phone lost it's display. The repairing charges are expensive. So I have decided to buy a new phone. In order to copy all the stuff from the old phone, I need an active display which I don't have. Of course I can copy files like images, e books, music and videos via a PC connection, but please tell me how to copy following things:
1) WhatsApp chats
2) Hike Chats
3) Contacts
4) Apps
5) Game progress

[Q] Replacement front glass without replacing display topic

Hi. My LG G2 Mini fall down on pavement. The front glass is break and touch don't work well. Display is ok. Man in GSM service told me that he only changed all set consist of front glass, digitizer and LCD because exchange without LCD is impossible. It's true? I finded on internet cheaper set without LCD than with LCD. If the repair is possible have I try fix it on my own or search qualified person?

Black burn on top right corner of display? topic

I'm not sure if it's right forum or not but I just wanted some opinions regarding an issue I'm getting with my 2 year old Note 2 (GT N7100). Recently suddenly i noticed a burn type thing in one corner of the display. Since then it has slowly grown in the last few days. It is especially noticeable on white background.
What I'm guessing is that the digitizer is gone. But just a guess. Can somebody actually help me out a little to think what else could be a problem? As mentioned it's a 2 year old GT N7100 running CM12 having a tempered glass screen protector.

[Q] Phone Display - blackscreen how can I get my photos? topic

Model: Samsung SCH-I500.
Phone powers up, I can hear beeps from incoming messages, this tells me its functioning but the display does not work. Totally black screen. I do not believe it registers touch anymore either.

When the display worked, and I connected the USB, it would prompt to enable "USB" access or something like that. However, with the screen being blacked out and I'm assuming non-responsive to touch, is there anyway to bypass this step to retrieve my photos via USB?

When I connect, it does appear on my laptop as "Removable Disk F:" but when I click it it says "Please insert Removable Disk F"
The four symbols at the bottom of the phone do light up and appear to register when i touch them.
Any help would be appreciated.

The z3 compact is a pretty powerful phone, are there any apps or settings to change that can utilise its potential? I compare the camera to my friends iPhone 6, and the colours don't seem true to life like the iPhone's.

Dropped Note 2. Display blank topic

Hi,

I dropped my note 2 and the display is blank after that. The motherboard is fine. The phone is booting up and the phone rings when someone calls.
However, even the touch functionality is not working on the blank screen.

So, what do you guys think, just a digitizer replacement will work? or do you think it might need a full LCD assembly replacement. If latter is the case, I might as well dump this phone as its almost End of life.

[Q] Razr Maxx weird issue with stock ROM--no display. Please advise. topic

Hi, all . . .

Quick version in bold below.

I've enjoyed my rooted Razr Maxx for many months now, but recently I did some tinkering of the kind that involved the warnings we're all familiar with, i.e., you might mess up your device. And, well, I did--but not in a way that was completely beyond redemption. I don't know what actually happened, but what I know is that after the Safestrap menu disappeared my phone no longer displayed anything, and it would hang during the boot sequence. I'd hear the Drooooid, see nothing, and then the phone would just remain in that non-displaying, unresponsive state until the battery was drained.

I have Safestrap 3.11 installed, thankfully, and I have a backup from several months ago I've been working with. I began hunting around for advice on how to rectify the problem. I tried wiping the cache, then restoring the system and data, then just the system, and each time I got the same problem. Finally, I created a new ROM slot and restored my backup to it--just the system. (System and data didn't work--I don't really know why.) Interestingly, this booted up just fine. Everything was as normal, except that I had to rebuild my profile/data/etc. from scratch.

So I thought, if that worked, then maybe I could wipe the stock ROM and restore just the system to it after the wipe. I tried it, and then had the same issue: no display after Safestrap, and then a hang.

So my question is, is there some way to get that stock ROM straightened out so I can use it as normal? Can I delete and recreate the stock ROM in Safestrap? Is there an obvious explanation for what is happening here?

I really do appreciate any advice you can give, because I'm a dabbler and not a developer, and that's probably a good part of the reason why I'm in this situation to begin with. Thanks!

Quick Version: I'm using Safestrap 3.11 and I messed up my stock ROM in such a way that I have no display after the Safestrap menu, and the phone hangs during boot. I managed to restore just the system to a different ROM slot and was able to start from scratch there, but I want to find out if there is a way to make my stock ROM whole again.
