[Q] More Storage Issues topic

I still have yet to fix my issue with storage. For some reason I have no Phone storage left, but almost all of my SD card storage is still empty. I thought that pictures and stuff were supposed to be stored on SD card.. or am I wrong??
Well that is not my major issue at the moment. I am actually having a problem with "write-protection"
I plugged my phone into my PC so that I can move my pictures and videos and stuff over to my SD card...
So i put my device USB Connection as a "camera (PTP)"
I found my photos, moved them to the SD card... and I wanted to delete them from the Phone Storage and when I try to delete a folder or file or anything from Phone Storage, it says "can not delete, the storage is write-protected"...
I have heard of it doing this when trying to delete from SD card... but why is m y phone saying that when I am trying to delete form the Phone Storage??
Can someone please help me out with this? I would appreciate it.. Thanks Guys!!

[Q] Reset to Factory Erased Everything, How to Recover Files on Internal Storage topic

Guys, I do apologize if I created this thread on an inappropriate way. I'm desperate. I Updated my HTC One to Android 5.0.2 through OTA. As it's recommended, I did a Factory Data Reset. NOW EVERYTHING IS LOST, MY PHOTOS,MY CONTACTS AND SMS BACKUPS, EVERYTHING. I did Factory Data Reset Before, But It Never Erased those files. I Don't know whether its because of Android 5 or not. BUT PLEASE, IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME TO RESTORE THOSE DELETED FILES, I'd be MOST GRATEFUL. I DO APPRECIATE YOUR HELP. MY PHONE IS NOT ROOTED and it's Completely STOCK. I Tried Several Recovery Apps, However as HTC one only has Internal Storage, the File System is not known, therefore, None of them Detected it.

"Internal/external" storage problems topic

Hi all, I'm a newbie here...I have a rooted nexus tab 4.4.2 and I've recently lost my SD card... So I was wondering if there is a way to configure apps to use my "external" storage (this is what my tab recognizes as what I would call internal storage) or maybe mount this storage as an SD???
I think that since I'm rooted and pretty much have unrestricted access to everything on my device, there should be a config file somewhere that directs applications to write data to a certain folder, and I would be able to modify it?

Internal Storage showing blank in file explore apps on Lollipop topic

Has anyone else been receiving this plague? I keep rolling back to custom 4.4.4 sense lollipop has been buggy. I flashed stock lollipop firmware and ran the RUU and was successful, but has had it's issues. Had "Sense TV" has stopped working unexpectedly and the VVM not updating and just closing, had everything working including storage, just to take a crap on me just doing a simple reboot. The couple times i had TV app working, i had internal storage showing more than DCIM and MEDIA, but it ends up crashing on reboots, or on fresh flashing with device wiped

Hi, I have rooted Blu Dash 4.5 with a custom rom that uses the sd card as internal memory.I have a 16 gb card installed and it works great. I was wondering if anyone has written a custom rom for the Moto G 2nd gen that has this option.And if so what is it called?

Happened quite a few times. Only thing that fixes it is redoing RUU from scratch and that's just a hassle. Anyone know how to fix the error? I have a lot of storage left. Completely stock rooted with Sense LP firmware.

[Q] USB and SD Card storage unavailable, upper bar not showing up. etc. topic

I have a big problem with my Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 GT-S6500D. My SD Card and USB storage is not loading up. If I try to open my files or gallery or listen to music it tells me there is not card inserted. When I go see the amount of storage used, It says 0,00B/0,00B for both USB and SD Card. Also, the upper part of the screen where it's suppose to give me notifications and battery stats and time is missing. I tried a few ways of fixing but to no avail. Anyone know how to fix this, people if it's possible not to lose my memory?

I decided to upgrade to Lollipop after holding out for awhile.... before I did though, as I knew I was going to run an RUU so I wouldn't have any problems with the OTA, I copied everything in my "storage" (all folders) to my windows laptop desktop via USB.

After upgrading, I copied it all back, making sure not to over-write anything.

What is strange is when I copied all my folders to my laptop initially, I didn't see a Download folder... which I expected to see. But after looking through the folders I had copied, I saw a folder called storage, and in that folder another called emulated, and then another called "0". In that folder I finally saw my Download folder.

I didn't think much of this at the time, however, when I look at storage from Root Explorer, I note there is a new Download folder at the "root" level of storage, but the storage/emulated/0 path is still there as well.... and following it takes me to my old Download folder....

So...to get back my original folders and contents before I upgraded to Lollipop, I have to copy over every folder in this path up 3 levels. i.e., from /storage/emulated/0/storage/emulated to /storage/emulated.

What is going on? Why is there an "0" and a "legacy" if I go up one level from /storage/emulated/??? Why did my old Download folder end up where it did?

How do you manage storage on your mi3? I'm really struggling with it right now with as low as 814kb free if cache is not cleared.
What are some tips you've to manage the data on a device with just around 13gb of usable memory.
P.S I'm paranoid about using cloud for photos etc.

Problem with internal and USB storage topic

Hi, I'm using a n7000 Slimkat 4.4.4 rom, with slim kernel 3.0.80+ autobuild.
Previously I used link2sd to create a partition on my SD card to get more space on my internal, and after a while I realised my USB storage is being recognised as an SD card. I tried a full wipe and reinstalled my rom but now even the internal storage is messed up. Not even the reformat works anymore
It's too complicated to explain in words so here are the screenshots. So how f**ked am I and how do I salvage this?
Each time I link files into the card (700mb size, it worked previously) it freezes the whole phone

From the storage option I can see this:
1. Internal storage 2GB (normal, nothing wrong with it)
2. Internal storage 11GB (this should be USB storage, and it has a erase SD card option at the end but space)
3. SD card 2GB (It was 4GB but I used link2sd to create an internal partition. MTP and mass storage is not detected but using card reader it is fine)
4. USB storage (there is only a mount and erase SD card option which is greyed out/unclickable and does not has any space indicator)

Guyzz is there any way through which 16gb version users could increase there phone storage from 8gb to 12gb...... bcoz i hav seen nexus 5 16gb version has 12gb phone storage 2gb system+app storage........ so plzz help..... and 8gb is way too low... [emoji22] [emoji22] [emoji22]

Problem with internal storage CM11 topic

Hi,

Im using safestrap 3.74 and CM11 - 4.4.4. I know about the problem with sd card and internal storage with new rules from google. But I have in settings shows 2 internal storage one is 8GB other one 3,56GB. The first one 8GB is full and the phone using it as SD card and then it show my SD card. Is this normal? Because I have problem to manage that. I have some apps in one internal storage other apps in other one and everything is a mess. Or if you could send me thread about it I could find anything.

Insufficient storage topic

I am using a G3 like ROM for my D838.
I do not know why, it always prompt me insufficient storage when I try to install or update my Google Apps/whatsapp/wechat etc.
Indeed, I have 32GB internal memory, huge storage. still got 20GB free space.

What can I do ?

S4 internal Storage Went Corrupt (no extStorage found), i have stock rom kitkat and lollipop , the download menu and recovery menu opens but after installation the handset gets stuck to the start boot logo or just shutdown , i also tried cynogenmode 11 it boots for only one time i mean if i restart my handset it won't boot again and in internal memory it just shows 8gb and doesnot allow to install everything from playstore or any (in short i can't use any memory :( ... please is their any possible solution avaliable
Further more i am the same guy who corrupted up the efs folder and i was trying to fix this for the last 20 days

I know looking at the form this question has been asked but I have tried all of it.*

I have a HTC one X (PJ83120 - Telstra) and I have tried everything to get usb mass storage working on Windows 7. I have reset to factory settings, updates Android to 4.2.2(Highest I can go atm), installed new drivers and sync software, used different pc's and cables and tried with usb debugging on and off.*

The phone informs me it's connected via usb and will also change but windows always reports "USB device not recognize device" even with new drives.*

Any tips and help would be good thanks in advance.*

Just that i was wondering why i'm having only 200-300 mbs free after installing lollipop? This made me explore and i did some easy steps to free up 600 mbs of cache.

STEPS

• Go to settings
  Go to storage
  Click on Cached Data
  Click on Ok.

Please let me know if it worked or not? I'm not sure. I guess clearing that cache deleted the temporary lollipop update file and frees up some space. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Uninstall application from Phones storage and Backup phone without Screen? topic

My phone screen recently a mystery crack (Within the screen itself) I can barely see anything, just a little bit of the bottom. I want to backup my phone, the most I can get to is the home screen , putting a password is a struggle but I manage but from their it is near impossible to get to anything else, also I want to open my whatsapp to use the web interface just to reply to some messages before I get a new phone but Applock is installed on my phone and prevents me from getting to there, is there anyway I can delete the app from internal storage ( From PC)? Is there a folder where apps are kept on the phone where I can delete it?.
