I bought my Galaxy Note 3 black month ago, it came with latest firmware installed (4.4.2). First thing what I did was factory reset, root, then connected to my home wifi network. And i immediately noticed random, but frequent (cca every 5- 10 minutes) wifi drops/reconnects. I had Galaxy S4 and S3 before and never had a single disconnect/reconnect for a year or more, so this definitely cannot be a problem with my wifi router settings.
I use hidden SSID and have full signal strength, the router is in my room.
So I started searching for a possible solutions. I found that there was a wifi bug on Android 4.3, but this is not my case because I'm on 4.4.2.
I tried changing all settings under phone "Advanced Wifi settings" but nothing helped. Currently I have "Smart network switch" disabled, "Scanning always available" disabled and "Keep wifi on" enabled, but the issue still persist. Even static IP did not help.
When I connect to my secondary home wifi network (with much weaker signal) , wifi is more stable, but disconnects/reconnects still occurs sometimes (cca once per hour).
I don't understand why Note 3 has this problem, when my Galaxy S4/S3 never had a single wifi problem before, on the same network with the same settings. Now I think this could be a hardware issue.
Please had someone this problem , is there a way on how to fix it or should I try to send the phone for repair under warranty?
