Hi,
Since about December (a while after updating to Lollipop), I have a weird battery drain issue, once in a while.
The battery drains very quickly about 15% per hour. Phone gets warm (obviously) and sluggish. Killing apps doesn't help. Battery stats don't show a culprit.
A weirder symptom: if the notification bar shows I have new Gmail messages and I open Gmail (from an icon in the quick launch area, not through the notification), the Gmail icon doesn't disappear from the notification bar (as it normally does).
Also, my clock widget (HD Widgets) stops updating (I think this doesn't always happen).
A reboot helps briefly, but usually within a few hours, it starts draining again.
Then, after anywhere between ½ and 2 days, the problem disappears, only to come back 2-3 weeks later.
Any thoughts? I'm on stock, not rooted, not even unlocked. (So I can't use BetterBatteryStats or tools like that without a factory reset, and I don't have the time to deal with that right now.)
Here are my battery stats from last night:
I took my phone off the charger at about 2:40, it was draining at the time, it looks like. Rebooted at about 3:00, briefly did some reading, then went to sleep.
At about 6:00, when my phone was quietly lying on my nightstand, the drain starts again. At 7:30 I woke up, rebooted, and made those screenshots.
The first screenshot shows no obvious offenders. The second screenshot tells us that something is keeping the phone awake, but it's not just being awake that's the problem, because the battery drains faster, with screen off, than in a normal situation during light use (reading) with the screen on.
Any thought? Thanks in advance!
