[Q] Macbook Pro retina battery topic

I'm using Android Studio with latest 2014 Mac book pro with 8gig ram using jdk 1.6 and latest android studio. When on battery the battery drains very fast. I look at the battery and tells me that Android Studio is causing the battery drain. I've read that is has something with dedicated gpu usage. Is there anyway I can change it so the battery doesn't drain very fast.
