Hi guys, I have rooted a few phones in my past, galaxy epic and s3 I think, so I know a lil of the ins and outs. However, its been a good four years or so and I now have a galaxy note 3 n900p from sprint. Obviously after so many years, rooting is far more advanced in know how and I am just in awe of what you all can do to help improve a phone. its great!
Not sure how common ppl like me are here but I am wanting to root my note 3 for medical purposes lol im deaf so sound doesnt matter and im half blind along with half vision in the one eye I can see out of. so dont need fancy wallpapers either, just good contrast to read clearly.
The forms are now fully loaded with all kinds of roms but I am wondering if someone could possible link me to spacific downloads/thread for certain things ro suit my disabilityand improve it
I have odin and I have seen cf auto root but I would like to get the most simple clean dark rom. Screens are easier for me to read if its a dark background with white text. I have seen this and used it on passed rooted phones. It helps a lot with eye strain. So I assume ill need a custom recovery then yes? before I flasg a custom rom?
I see lollipop is out, I am on 4.4.4 and again, I dont need the flashy bells and whistles just clean stable and dark.(i actually wish to ffind either an invert colors app or custom web settings to invert the colors to a dark theme) but if 5.0 is stable, ill try it :)
I will list I did temp root yesterday from another site, it didnt work, something was missing, I knew it but couldnt figure out what it was till I skimmed something over here about putting your phone in usb debugging mode. Basically I got up to installing the supersu but kept failing so I was wondering why then I saw I never was told to put in usb debugging. Will me not doing that harm much? And basically only installed cwm but no root.
Bottom line is I wanna ask and confirm that I just need to reflash the tar and recovery and such all together right? If anyone could personally help link me to where I could find the right information to fit my disability needs, clean dark stable rom. Plus what method I should use to root or if need custom kernals too. I will pick up easy but its finding the info I need that is challenging right now with the vision I have so thank you in advance for any kindness and support to be my extra pair of eyes :)
