Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge Default Wallpapers topic

Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge Default Wallpapers

These are the wallpapers that will be set as default on the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge respectively, and you can now download the full-resolution versions. These wallpapers are considerably more somber and, should we say classier, than the diamond-ish wallpaper that came on the Galaxy S5, and hint at the new approach Samsung is taking with software design.

Default Kernel topic

I remember seeing/reading somewhere that was about a write-protection removed kernel and that the thread also provided the default kernel.
You see, only wanted the modded kernel to remove some **** the phone had. But now I don't have access to the front camera and I really need it.
Do anyone of you know where can I find the default kernel? [not ROM. BTW its a Sprint/Boostmobile model]

Is there any way to get rid of Google+ photos as a gallery option? I'm having a couple of apps choose it's browser as a default, and want to change it to Gallery, the stock OPO app.

Default Samsung Music Player topic

Does anyone have the default Samsung music player APK or .zip file to flash on custom ROM's. I find the default one only plays .wma files while the normal play store ones dont! All my music is in the .wma format and converting 25Gigs of .wma format to MP3 is not possible exactly!

Thanks

[THEMES] Dynamic Kat's and NACO's Device default topic

Hello guys and galls,

I'm a big fan of dark backgrounds and after trying some themes made by others, as well as making my own - to suite my own preferences but also to make them work as good as possible (stable, no FC, no White on White (referred to, as WW) or Black on Black (referred to, as BB) and no interferences with other apps like Google) I here present you my final collection.

All included themes have been tested on the Canadian Note 4 (SM-N910W8) but they should be working on all Snapdragon variants.

DISCLAIMER:
As always, it is entirely your responsibility.

INSTALLATION:
Flash the zip file from recovery (TWRP, CWM or similar).

PREREQUISITES:
- rooted
- Snapdragon variants (no idea whether they work on Exynos)
- tested in a deodexed environment but they should also be working on odex ROM's (if you're odexed use a root explorer to delete/save the original SecSettings.odex by adding .bak at the end of the file name.
- the contained Contacts file is specific to the US variants. If you're installing the theme on a non-US variant, you have to either delete or append a .bak to the original file before flashing the theme - otherwise you'll end up with 2 Contacts files

GPE Theme was originally created by Brian (bri315317), I post it here with his permission and obviously all credits go to him.
GPE Theme features:
- Pure Black background/theme consistent throughout all the apps
- Modified apps: Samsung Music, Contacts, Messaging, Settings, Phone & Dialer
- 4-way reboot menu
- CRT screen off effect
- Screen capture (screenshot) and torch added on the Power off menu

Brian's themes however, were intended to be used within his ROM so in order to make them work independently I have slightly modified them and created 2 versions:
- GPETheme.zip: replaced the original SystemUI.apk (it was constantly crashing) with the unmodified deodexed equivalent, removed AirMessage.apk (didn't seem to be working outside Brian's Dynamic Kat ROM) and
- GPETheme_HomeWake.zip: same changes as above + I've modified the <PhoneWindowManager.smali> file under policy to force the Home button to wake up the phone (it makes sense if you're like me and use the finger scanner to unlock the phone). Note: Due to the original smali file enforcing the system-wide policy "Home-key-no-wake", known modifications done to the <gpio-keys.kl> file under system/usr/keylayout have no effect whatsoever.

NACO Device Default theme created by me uses Samsung's Device Default style/theme
NACO Device Default theme features:
- Samsung's Device Default background/theme (dark with blueish headers) - applied only to the affected apps
- Modified apps: Samsung Music, Contacts, Messaging, Settings, Phone & Dialer
- preserves original styles/themes of all the other apps not specifically modified for theming
- CRT screen off effect

CREDITS:
- Brian for GPE Theme
- sefrcoko for his (Canadian) deodexed ROM

Here are some screenshots of the NACO Device Default theme. I'll try to upload some screenshots of the GPE Themes later on - meanwhile you can see them on Brian's own post

Does AOSP roms support EXT4 by default? topic

I keep on having issues with my MicroSD card being recognized. It is a 64GB one that I have formatted in FAT32. Sometime it will be recognized fine, but quite often it is not. My computer recognizes it fine, as does TWRP; so it cannot be an issue with the card it's self. Sammy based ROMs also recognize it fine. If I reformattted to EXT4, would I have better luck in having it recognized regularly?

[Q] Setup Wizard Fails - Need to Restore Rooted Kitkat to Verizon factory default topic

So I have an old Galaxy S3 that I was playing around with, trying to figure out some basics to rooting, as I've never done it before. (I now have a new Galaxy S5 that I'd like to eventually root, but I figured if I was going to brick anything, it would be this older S3).

It has the stock Android 4.4.2 image on it.

After reviewing a number of forum posts on XDA and elsewhere, I've learned that this has a locked bootloader that hasn't been cracked. So, I decided to first try the easy route, and installed Towel Root.

After successfully rooting the phone, I uninstalled some apps that I probably should not have uninstalled, because now when I go to do a factory reset, the setup wizard allows me to select my language (English), but then fails with "Unfortunately setup wizard has stopped."

When I hit OK, I do get dumped out into the home screen, and the phone seems like its mostly (if not fully) functional, minus the apps that I removed which I shouldn't have removed.

So... is there any way of fixing this?

[Q] In the Phone App - the Logs are default set to Missed rather than All topic

So I have a rooted Note 4 with stock ROM, and I recently installed Wanam Xposed. After installing this I have noticed that when I open the Phone App and go to Logs, it always defaults to missed calls, where before installing Wanam it defaulted to All Calls. Anyone know how to fix this? I cannot find the setting in Wanam that caused this (or if it even is Wanam), nor can I find any other setting for this.
