[Q] Galaxy Note 4 Bootloader Source Code Question topic

Hi xda-devs,

I'm sure you guys get this a lot, but I had a quick question concerning the complexity of modifying the bootloader to be unlocked or unsecured with the source code now being released by Samsung.

I'm contemplating doing it. I have a strong background in programming, so I'm not intimidated by the complexities involved in such a task. Links to any tutorials on how to do this is welcomed (50,000 ft-high-level explanations).

Thanks,
Thomas V.

[Q] GPS module source code topic

Hi all,

for my project I need to change the way how gps works. It was told me gps-manager enable/disable gps sensor. Idea would be to recompile my own customized version for gear s and install on the device. I have started by dowloading opensource from samsung site. Inside I have not found anything related to gps module.
Do you have any idea how to do it?

Thank you.
Luke

TWRP, Bootloader, Kernel Source topic

My wife just bought this phone and before I dive in on anything I have a few questions before I begin development for her. Question one, has anyone already built TWRP for this device? If yes, provide a link to the image and the device tree if possible. If no, then I will most certainly be building one.

Question two, is there anything particular about the bootloader that I need to be made aware of for unlocking it. Any special guides, or is it as simple as calling on fastboot oem unlock without any specific unlock code?

Question three, has the kernel source for this device been released yet and if so can a link be provided?

First step, is to unlock the bootloader, then build TWRP (which will be a piece of cake). Please inform me of anything you believe would be value information for me. Thanks in advance.

[KERNEL][MT6732] Elephone P6000 Kernel Source Code topic

Hey there everyone!

So I was just scouring the Internet, as usual, and I came across something unusual on the Elephone download servers: P6000_sourcecode.tar.gz. Of course, as a MediaTek fan, and one who is always campaigning for MediaTek to release their sources (you can see that on my blog at AllDroid Reviews), I immediately grabbed the file and took a look. :cyclops:

You can download it here (mirrored in case Elephone removes the file from their servers):

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7...RGc&authuser=0

More details are on my blog:

http://alldroidreviews.blogspot.com/...urce-code.html

Have fun playing with it, because as a basic ROM builder/modifier, I have no idea yet how to compile it/compile a ROM. I will try though, and will probably use CM12 as a base ROM.

If anyone has any idea if it is the full kernel source code, ROM code, or anything, please do leave a comment on this thread! :fingers-crossed:

[Q] Unknown SIM source topic

Hello,

I have a Verizon Galaxy Note II (SCH-I605). It is stock running 4.4.2. I left Verizon and have put a GSM sim card from a local rural cellphone provider in my phone. The phone seems to work great. No issues with calls, sms, mms, or data.

I do have a constant notification that says "Phone Activation" "This SIM card is from an unknown source". Is there any way to get that removed or will it stay because it was originally a CDMA phone?

Thanks for the help! You guys are the best!
