[Q] Battery Drain when changing permissions with App Ops topic

I have recently been taking control over the permissions I allow with certain apps with the use of App Ops starter that was included with my LG G3 Android 5.0 update.
I have noticed however that since I have disabled certain permissions for certain apps the battery usage for those apps intermittently skyrocket to using 30% in under an hour at random times. This often happens while the phone is idling and with those apps not even open in my task manager.

Some examples would be disabling the location data for apps such as Facebook's "Messenger" app and also games like Wooga's "Diamond Dash". Google's default "Maps" app is also a culprit after disabling access to contacts/phone.

My guess would be that these apps are stuck in some loop constantly checking for the information they no longer have access to.

Can anyone comment as to having similar results? Can anyone make suggestions as to possible things I could do on my end?

I have tried to re-enable the permissions to verify the results however as this is not an issue that affects the battery constantly but only intermittently I'm unsure as to whether I am right in my assumptions and there was one instance where I had re-enabled all the permissions for Facebook's "Messenger" yet it still consumed significant amounts of battery while being closed and the phone in it's idle state.

[Q] G3 Colour or contrast changing randomly topic

Hey, so for the past few days my G3's contrast seems to be changing and dark apps have a noticeable transparency.

I have colour adjustment on - and a dark grey keyboard theme that is almost black, but when it randomly changes contrast my almost black keyboard turns to a grey, that is where it is most noticeble. The transparency is most noticeble when I open my texting app Textra - the dark theme is a lot lighter and I can faintly see my home screen through the app but while when it's working nornally there is no transparency. It happens on all apps but these ones make me know its not normal as I use textra and keyboard the most and know what they should look like.

I may note that the navbar is black and the buttons green and when it goes brighter the navbar stays the same.

I dont know what triggers it, but it just seems to randomly switch between normal and brighter+transparent. It has only been happening for a few days that Ive noticed, and it doesnt affect anything it is just quite annoying.

Other than this, the screen works fine, knock codes work fine, when its running normal everything looks perfect.


Does anybody know what is causing this? My G3 is rooted with various theme tweaks from G3 tweakbox and gravitybox, but I did not change anything between it running fine and acting up.

Changing partition with pit files (and battery drain) topic

Can someone confirm this for me? I am pretty sure I used the one that mods the preload. (was using kitkat, lollipop and even happened on stock.) and I had a massive battery drain while the phone was idle. If I charged it and left it alone it would drain at 0.7/h. But if I used it for a few things. Like XDA for example and I put it back into idle mode. It would drain at 3-5% with no severe wakelocks. Going out of my mind I Flashed the stock pit back (haven't had accesse to a computer) and now it went 4 hours with no battery lost. And using my phone it doesn't drain rapidly. After 2 hours it hadn't lost any power except for what I used.

Ps. I know this is very long and hopefully it helps. As I would like to use a pit file to better manage my apps. But the battery drain was just to much

Help changing dpi topic

Hey guys,

I am running jasmine ROM 4.0,the latest version and im having trouble lowering the dpi. I want to lower the dpi to 420 but when i do the phone/contacts app stops working and so does quick remote (i havent tested every so, those are the two I've noticed). I have tried 560 which works but is still a bit big for me. I tired 480 but I have the same issue. Does any one know how to fix this? It worked fine on the aosp/cm based roms but I like the stock roms better so far and don't want to switch

So I fully charged my Note 3 this morning.. unplugged then used it lightly just some phone calls and about 10 minutes of gaming . But when I checked the battery history details I see some areas where the percentage jumped up! For example as in the picture it jumped from 83 to 85 though it should discharged, is this normal . [Q] Can't boot my android after changing permissions topic

I recently rooted my android (Nexus 4). I wanted to make /system folder permissions 777, I needed that for another application. I got Root Explorer application, and changed permissions to 777. Then root folder disappeared and hanged up. I tried to restart my phone, but now it doesn't even boot up. What should I do? ... Please, don't tell me I bricked my phone.. It was just permissions, nothing more... I have no idea how to recover now.

Hi, I wonder about that part of the smartphone is responsible for last frequency waves lte. I bought a phone that does not receive lte on Polish frequencies and I wonder if going to change any of the components to fit lte wave reception. Problem after changing boot animation topic

Hi , I have htc one m8 with Viper 4.2.0 .

I copied the bootanimation.zip to /system/media , and the boot animation works fine , but when the system ui boots up ,all I can see is the boot animation.
I can lock and unlock the phone and I can still see the boot animation.
What can I do ?

Automatically changing wallpaper after 5.0.1 Update topic

Just upgraded to AT&T's 5.0.1 Update, so far very few issues. However, both yesterday and today, when I woke up the wallpaper on my G3 was changed to some LG stock photo.

Nothing else had changed, and no data was lost. Each time I've been able to change the wallpaper back to my own image.

Any ideas?

i indeed changed the dpi to 530 and its wonderfull on NOVA luncher
in stock launcher though,the dock and the menu are half and VERY BIG......what can i do?
i changed back to 640 but nothing happens....nova launvher works perfectly though...
