Fingerprint sensor broken? topic

Hi,

I am still under stock, no root, no warranty void (first time I am lucky that CM is still under development).
When I want to start the fingerprint manager I get the error that I should reboot as there was a problem.
Hard reset led me to the same screen without any modifications from stock software.

Clear error for warranty I assume or any suggestions and experiences?

Broken GPU? Also How to RMA? topic

Hi guys, today my OnePlus broke, i think.

20 Minutes ago i was still using it normal.
Then, i turn the screen on and see this:

as you can see in the below video, the phone is completely operational, i can use whatsapp web from my pc and the colors of the stripes change according to what should be on the screen:

i suspect that the gpu has a defect or maybe the connection to screen got loose, even though i did not drop the phone before this started.

the same thing is seen while booting and in the recovery, so it is not a problem with the os itself. what i need to know now, is:
-pictures of cwm so i can go to the backup menu and put a system backup on my pc and then wipe,
-how do i start an rma on the oneplus site? also i have rooted and unlocked the phone, how is one plus going to determine if that caused the error or not? (i know that is not the cause, but i want to be certain that i wont get denied my warranty)

-also if oneplus will send me a new phone, can i ask them to send one with the old backcover? i dont like the covers without the cyngn logo.

[Q] Restore to Stock recovery and Rom without PC or ADB (broken USB port) topic

My HTC One has a defective USB port (charging works but connection to PC doesn't)
Now I want to bring it in for repairs and for that purpose take it back to stock recovery and empty rom.

Since the USB port is busted I can't use ADB or anything like that so I'm looking for a (TWRP recovery) flashable file that let's me return to complete stock.

My phone is S-OFF and can stay that way for repairs in the Netherlands so just recovery and rom would be fantastic.

Non-Verizon sim, broken sms with 5.0 root topic

So I've replicated this problem three or four times, after which I've given up on updating to 5.0 until I have some solid solutions. Whenever I try to flash one of the rooted OA8 roms here on xda I lose the ability to send sms, that is literally the only thing that is broken (4g works, calls work, phone activates to towers fine.) My process for flashing these roms has been full wipe > flash rom > reboot download > odin OA8 kernel; that's coming from rooted NK2. I've talked to another user on here who has the same problem and our common thing is that we're both on non-verizon sims (straight talk in my case.) I've tried updating the PRL, wiping cache/dalvik, factory reset. Downgrading back to 4.4.4 fixes it every time, so it's definitely not a network issue. What's the issue here? I realize that those of us with non-verizon plans are the minority here, but if anyone who knows more about this than me has some suggestions, throw them down here.

Need a part from a broken phone topic

Does anyone have a broken Moto X that they are parting out? I'm trying to find a piece that can't seemingly be found anywhere else. The part that I'm looking for is a small rubber grommet that goes around the proximity sensor between the motherboard and screen, shown in the picture.

I have a soft bricked device (nAna Kernel booting and rebooting but NO recovery installed) and i would like
to unblick it again with the stock rom as described here on the forum. But.... nostock rom to find :(

[Q] broken nexus 4 touch screen unresponsive topic

Hello,

I recently cracked my nexus 4 and the touch screen is no longer responsive. As a result I can't unlock my phone pattern. I can still see my home screen but I can't unlock my swipe pattern in order to retrieve my photos off my nexus 4 onto my pc. I read that the nexus 4 is not usb-otg compatible due to hardware and software issues, so in order to make a usb-otg work I require a modified kernel, plus a Y cable and i'd need to supply the needed voltage from an outside source. My nexus is still running the stock kernel. My question: Is there anyway for me to get my photos off my nexus at this point if I can't really control it in anyway?

wifi broken, help please! topic

Silly prob, just developed from nowhere. If my wifi is either switched off manually or by itself it cannot be switch on again. Found a painful way around it and that is to reboot into recovery, delete dalvik cache and cache, reboot again and its there. Obviously this is annoying process so am hoping some one has experienced this same issue an found a fix. Or someone knows whats happening.. thx:good:

Hi there everyone. I just looked for a post with this problem, but didn't found, so here you go.

I have a international Note 3 N9005 (bought in Brazil) with the latest unbranded Brazilian firmware 4.4.2. I have flashed CM and some other roms, rooted etc. But in the end I flashed back the original rom from SanMobile, via Odin.

The problem is:
1. Some settings are not saved. I can only choose pattern in lock screen security, I can't choose pin or password or the settings app freeze or crash.

2. On the contacts app, from which contacts to display, I choose only contacts from Google. When the cellphone restarts, it shows all contacts again (sim, phone, google, etc)

3. GPS only locks when data is turned off or in airplane mode.

I flashed this firmware via Odin and tried a factory reset in the original recovery but no success.
I don't know why but I think this is a permission problem. I don't need root right now. I can restore with Kies if that would solve this problem.

Any ideas on the matter are appreciated.

anyone wants to sell his broken moto 360? topic

My moto 360's screen died, because of some water,
but the motherboard is completely fine. so i want to replace it myself.
after some searching troughout the internet i did not find any replacement LCD.
So, i was searching for someone who has a broken moto 360 and still wants some money for it,
i dont care about the condition of the watch, as long as the screen is okay

[Q] Broken recovery (xt 1033) topic

I bricked my phone while downgrading from the Brazilian lollipop to Asian Kit Kat, I did it directly which I think was my mistake. My phone won't boot up android or even the recovery (twrp). When I do a fastboot and choose recovery it will reboot into the recovery and show the flickering screen (different from the one you get after downgrading) and shows the android symbol with a warning sign. I tried to flash a new cm12 while the recovery was working and it said it was successful, which caused the damage to the recovery. At that point my phone could no longer be detected by my windows PC (tried on a different PC with ubuntu). I took my phone to some stores thinking it can be repaired but they failed, they only managed to get the recovery to work again (cwm). I tried installing a cm12 again using otg, it seemed as if it was successful but when I restarted my phone it failed and broke the recovery again. I just left the phone till it ran out of battery since it won't turn off. I'm hoping someone out there might have a solution, I tried most of what I could find on the net but alas.

Hi,

My Kindle Fire HDX 7'' fell on the floor and now the screen is broken. I want to buy replacement LCD screen and digitizer, but first I want to be sure the device doesn't have any other damage. When I press the power button, it looks like it turns on. If I press the volume keys I can hear beeps, but the think I'm afraid most is it doesn't connect to my wifi hotspot.

Is there a way I can know the device is still working? I think it didn't had debug enabled, so no adb. :(
