LG 23A Lollipop 5.01 safe to disable apps topic

First, thank you to everyone who's shared work or development has helped us all. I'll name names later when I'm not on my phone. :o

Since 23A can't be rooted, or retain root from 12B via 10B, if you want to keep using it instead of downgrading to 12B the only option to debloat is to Disable stock apps through Androids interface.

There are additionally at least two pre-installed apps that can be totally uninstalled:

Farmville
&
iHeartRadio

iHateBloat! Uninstall those the normal way to uninstall Android apps if you don't want them.

If anyone notices any more, please post about it.

How to disable apps:

1. Go to settings by swiping down from the top of the screen and choosing the gear-wheel in the top right corner above the notification toggles.

2. Scroll down to the bottom of the "Device" section of Settings, choose "Application manager". It's the second one from the end in that section, two up from the "Personal" section.

3. Swipe left three times to the "All" section.

4. You can click the three-dot menu at the top right and sort by Name or Size.

5. Click an app you hope to disable. Some apps don't let you disable them.

6. I chose "Force Stop", "Disable", "Clear data" and when necessary "Clear cache". Note that sometimes one of these options will take care of some or all of the rest, but definitely not always in my observation.

7. Press Back to get back to the apps list.

8. Repeat steps 5-7.

You can swipe left once more to see all the apps that you have Disabled.

Following are screenshots of apps that can be disabled without any trouble or rooting.

Please feel free to share your experiences disabling these and additional apps.

Thank you!

[Q] Disable USB/Charge Only Mode topic

For security reasons, I don't want users to be able to connect the tablet to a computer and download its content. Is there anyway to disable USB data transfer? I know that certain Android devices enable a "Charge Only" option when they are connected via USB, but it doesn't seem to exist on the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Is there any way to get that setting on the tablet?

Currently I'm working with a GT-P5113 that's been updated to 4.2.2. Any help would be really appreciated.

Xperia z1 screen brightness change itself even auto brightness is disable topic

Hello,
I have a sony xperia z1. I found a problem that I dont know its is a bug or problem in my phone or system optimization.
my phone brightness change itslef even when i have turned off the auto brightness. for example, the brightness becomes dimmer when the overall display colour is dark or black colour and it becomes brighter when the ovrall display colour is white or bright colour.
some example is in dark background or pages, or when open the notification bar, or when create a folder in apps menu and open the folder to view folder.
do any one have this problem? is it a bug or hardware issue or system optimization?

[Q] How to disable one sim card? topic

I am running the latest CM11-20150223-NIGHTLY-sprout. I move to configure sim cards then deactivate the sim-2. Deactivation is successful. But it continues to receive phone calls and messages even data too. Tried rebooting, factory reset and every other option I could. I found the same problem in the stock rom too. Is this specific to Android One or is a common problem across all Mediatek chips?

[Q] Disable 5.0.2 System Update Notification? topic

Has anyone been able to successfully disable the system update notification on the watch for the 5.0.2 update yet? If so, would you mind sharing your technique and what is required (root, adb, etc...) I've not yet rooted but unlocked my bootloader and have installed Arter97's 2.1 Kernel. I toyed around with the idea of trying to rename or delete the update.zip in the /cache partition, but I apparently have insufficient permissions via adb to that partition, probably due to not rooting. If I simply deleted the update.zip, I expect that it will simply download again and I'll have this same issue again right? Thanks all.

[Q] Disable Auto Negotiation topic

Hi guys and girls :)

First time posting !

I bought an android box with a rk3288 chipset in it.

This seems to have problems with the auto negotiation on a wired gigabit network.

When I plug in a usb to LAN 100Mbps, the box works perfectly, with the onboard gigabit network adapter, I have speed of around 0.03Mbps... just enough to receive an ip via DHCP.

Is there a way to force the LAN link speed on the android side ? (unmanaged switch on the receiving end)
Or should I just cut some wires from the UTP cable?

Disable Internal Antenna Permanently topic

I want to permanently disable my Samsung Galaxy S4's internal antenna. I know doing this seems a bit unorthodox but I have my reasons why I want to do so. I will be connecting an external antenna via the L1 port using a patch lead cable. No I don't want to use the internal antenna ever so I'm wondering how it can be disconnected; I don't want any responses asking me why I want this to be done I just want possible solutions. I was wondering if I could open the phone and somewhat remove the antenna or mess with the antenna contacts so it could stop working I'm not sure though so I need either a hardware or software solution.

[Q] DIsable lock via Tasker topic

Hi,

Since I have the Galaxy Note 4, I have an issue with tasker and lockscreen.

Most of time, I use Fingerprint lock. With the Secure Settings plugin, I can disable this lock. But when I wake up the phone, I then have to swipe to unlock, which I don't want. The unlock option from Tasker doesn't work.
For example, this same feature worked on my previous Galaxy S3.

Any idea about how completely disable all locks (in Tasker or with any plugin) ?

Thanks!

Disable the Proximity Sensor topic

It is already the second time that the Proximity Sensor of my Nexus 5 is broken. During a call the display turns off and I cannot turn it on again. When I check the sensor with the App "Sensor Box" I can see that it always returns 0. As a workaround I want to disable the broken sensor. I already tried to disable it by adding "gsm.proximity.enable=false" to the build.prop file but this does not work. Does anyone has other ideas how to do this on a Nexus 5 with CM11 installed?

Disable Lollipop Heads Up notifications? topic

Now that we're seeing the first release of Xposed for Lollipop, one of the first mods I'd like to see is disabling Heads Up notifications and going back to putting them all in the tray. Anyone know if any modules will be implementing this functionality soon? It's one of the strongest reasons my N5 is still on Kitkat.

[Q] Temporarily disable /dev/input/eventX topic

I've installed the app Screen Time on my son's devices.
I'm happy with its functionality, except, he's hacked it.
He must have found out that the application is only active once it's loaded.
That means he has this time window right after booting his device in which he can set the time in order to manipulate what he's allowed and what he's not.
I'd like to prevent him from doing that.
That prevention has to happen quite early on during/after the boot process in order to be effective.
My idea was to write an init.d script that disables touch input until well after all startup applications are loaded and started.
I've found out that the digitizer inputs are accessible on his device through /dev/input/event0.
If I delete it, there's no touch input. Unfortunately, if I reinstate it, touch inputs don't come back. I figure, removing event0 is just to harsh for the layers above to cope.
So I'm wondering, does anyone have an idea if and how it's possible to temporarily disable events being sent through the /dev/input/eventX interface. I looked around in /proc and /sys but couldn't find anything that fits.
If that's not possible, does anyone have another idea how I might be able to solve my problem?
