Audio quality on Lollipop topic

Hi

Has anybody noticed degraded audio quality with any of the lollipop roms?

I have a Bluetooth car stereo with a subwoofer and on KitKat (ARHD) it sounded sweet but seems to sound awful on Lollipop.

I've tried ARHD and I'm not on Leedroid and the H/K audio mod has helped but it still sounds poor.

call quality / audio quality drops during call topic

Hello

I have an interesting problem.
During a call the sound quality suddenly drops. Then it not possible to continue this call because of the bad audio. It usually happens after 10 minutes of calling, sometimes less, sometimes a bit more.

It happens with CM11, CM12, and Omnirom. It also seems related to the LTE network function - not sure though.
I recently switched my operator and got a new sim card. This new operator is providing LTE and since then this happens so this might be related to that problem.

Any idea about that?

Is the audio quality really that bad? topic

Really interested in this phone but I keep reading ONE complaint (often typed in all caps):

The audio from both the speaker AND the headphone jack are terrible. Both the fidelity and volume. It seems to be lacking in power/output, but not having had the chance to test it for myself, I can't compare it to the 10/10 Droid Maxx (Ultra) speaker quality. Just thought I'd pick a few brains and see what you guys had to say.

[Q] Sudden deterioration of video quality in NFL GamePass after flashing new Rom topic

I just flashed my Minix Neo X7 with the "X7 Kitkat v2.2.0 Community Edition" Rom taken from the Minix community forums. Basically everything works fine. Video playback, streaming, light gaming, with one glaring exception.
I am a subscriber to the NFL GamePass and installed on the new box. I have attached a zip the screenshots of the video quality I am getting on the app.

I am running the box in 1080i at 60 fps through to my TV. Changing the video output settings, restarting the device and re-installing the App did not change matter at all. This problem also does not occur on any of my other android devices.

I am waiting for a response from their customer support, however, I think I can find more competent technical help among the xda community.

Does anybody have any idea what causes this problem / how to fix it?

Bluetooth sound quality issues topic

Has anybody been having problems with Bluetooth sound quality? On calls, other end gets a really bad echo, and I get a bit of static on my end. Just came from a Nexus 5 and then HTC One m8, headset is a Moto hx550, and it was crystal clear on both. Latest radio, tried factory reset and different roms, all sound the same.

I have a Wiko Darkfull with stock rom and plan to buy a bluetooth headset, and have tested with three different Bluetooth headset (all new) and the sound that others hear is very bad...
With the 3 models, the sound that I heard is very good, but the person on the other side says that barely realize what I say, the sound is very bad and distorted.
In the store we tested 4 headset, two of the same brand and two other different, and always the same thing...

It's happened to anyone else? Solutions?

[Q] LG G2 D802 build quality? topic

Hello,

I received a LG G2 D802 and have a question regarding it('s build quality). I have no other D802 to compare it to, that's why I am asking here:

When tapping firmly with the finger on the upper right side of the device, I can hear some kind of "clattering" from inside the device. Now I am wondering:

Is this normal?

I had a look at some tear down pictures/videos of the LG G2 and it seems like the motor for the vibration feature is located in the upper right side of the device.

So, could it be the motor which produces this clattering sound when firmly tapping on the right side of the device with the finger?

It might be worth mentioning that, when shaking the device, I can not hear this clattering sound as much. It's much quieter when shaking the device.

It's basically only happening to this extend when firmly tapping the upper right side of the device with the finger.

Or could the clattering simply come from the optical image stabilization of the camera when shaking/tapping the device?

Also:

When firmly tapping the touchscreen, I can feel and hear a difference between tapping the right side of the touchscreen and tapping the left side of the touchscreen.

When firmly tapping the left side of the touchscreen, it feels very "stiff" / "hard". But I mean that in a good way, it feels very solid.

However, when firmly tapping the right side of the touchscreen it feels kinda like as if the area below the touchscreen would somehow be a little "hollow". I can also hear a difference when firmly tapping the touchscreen while holding it to my ear. When tapping the left side it sounds solid. But when tapping the right side it sounds a little "hollow", kinda like a audible resonance.

The glass and display does not seem to be visibly moving though and the device seems to be working just fine otherwise.

Is this normal?

PS: Tapping the rear side of the device is similar and also produces this somehow "hollow" audible resonance.

Review of the Minix X8-H Plus a very high quality Android TV Box topic

In this review i'm going to present you, the latest android tv box from Minix, the Minix Neo X8-H Plus. It is a top quality product as always from this great company.

Looks & Hardware
Physically the Minix Neo X8-H Plus is relatively small and thin for a media player. It sports an external wifi antennaand a lot of connectivity ports.



Looking at the top we see the minix logo carved on the device's body.



At the right side we have:
-the power button,
-an sd card slot,
-a microphone jack,
-a micro usb otg
-and a usb 2.0 port.



On the back we have:
2 more usb 2.0 ports,
the HDMI output,
an SPDIF optical audio output,
a reset hole,
the gigabit ethernet port
and the D/C input.



On the right side we find the external wifi antenna, on the front a very dim blue power led



and on the bottom we find the carved android logo and the rubber feet accompanied with a very niceand stylish black textured colour.



Software
Minix has once again incorporated their own home launcher along with the option for the stock android one.



The Minix launcher is very minimalistic and has some great features

On the top left corner, we see our current connectivity setup

Going to the right column, we have the date and time. By pressing it we go to the stock android setting, below we see the file explorers folder, the app drawer, app market folder, and a task killer.

To the left column there are preinstalled folders which include, video players, media players, music players, games, browsers,online streaming, screencasting, and social.

We can also go into the Minix settings and add our favourite apps

In the Minix setings we have 4 tabs.

Network: where we see our wireless and ethernet connections



Display: where we can adjust our hdmi settings, display position and screensaver



Advanced: where we can use the miracast functionand some other useful features



And lastly the Other tab where we see our device's name, android version and build number



Also we can update our system and go to the stock android settings
If we want a more complex interface, we can always use the stock android launcher



Benchmarks & Specs
I ran Antutu benchmark and got a score of 31289 points which is good for an android tv box



In the device info tab we have

-a Quad Core Amlogic S812 CPU,
-an Octa Core Mali450 GPU,
-2GB DDR3 Ram from which 1.6GB are available for the user,
-16GB Nand Flash with 12.48GB available for use and our CPU architecture and speed which is up to 2Ghz
-Also our kernel is 1080p.

Next test i did was 3D Mark but it couldn't be completed for unknown reasons



The final test was the Antutu Video Tester to see how the device performs running various video formats and the tests were excellent







Video Playback in XBMC/KODI
I tested some high bitrate videos in XBMC for MINIX, a modified version only for Minix devices which natively supports framerate switching.
The files were on an external Seagate Expansion 2.5" 1 TB HDD without external power supply



The first video i tried was a 1080p 10Mbps file



Next a 1080p 40Mbps



And finally 2 4k videos





I got excellent results from all of them without the slightest frame loss

Gaming & Wifi Reception
Wifi reception is flawless and the Neo X8-H Plus supports wifi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Dual band 2.4G/5G



and games run perfectly fine using a Dual Shock 4 controller woth the sixaxis app











Conclusion
