[Q] MHL_WAKE_LOCK and no computer recognition topic

Hello everyone!

Few months ago, suddenly my i9300 stopped charging and was no more detected by my computer. I tried changing charger, usb cable, usb port, laptop and nothing works. Finally I managed to charge it but the battery drain is noticeable: around 30% doing nothing and with airplane mode enabled. Also it freezes if I spent too much time in recovery mode.
Yesterday I installed BBS and I found my phone is never going into deep sleep, is always awake and I also found "mhl_wake_lock" as guilty of this. Reading some tips, I used a nail to clean gently the microusb port (it was a little bit dirty teehee) and, just for a while, the phone was able to turn into deep sleep mode. I was so excited BUT charging stopped working :( . I cleaned the usb port again with alcohol and now charges again, but guess what? No more deep sleep.

My theory is that some pins are damaged and it gets stuck like MHL mode is enabled. Before all these problems, there were no battery drain, during night it only used around 10%.

Is there any way to disable/kill this MHL driver o process or whatever it is without changing the microusb port?

I'm using CM12 unofficial Weekly 6.

Hit "wipe data" now TF201 not recognized by computer and stuck on asus splash screen topic

Hey y'all.

My father was messing around with his TF201 and decided to hit "wipe all data" while in recovery mode and it has been bricked ever since. All I know is that he had rooted it and unlocked the bootloader. Apparently he didn't want to fess up to bricking his present and now he doesn't remember what else he had done to it or what exactly he did to brick it. Normally I would keep my nose out of this, but he told me I could sell it if I got it back in working order, and I have had such issues with fixing it that this has become a personal challenge.

I can't get the tablet to turn off and it only boots as far as the Asus splash screen with "this device is unlocked" in the upper left corner and the nvidia logo in the bottom right corner. Whenever I try to power down the tablet it re-boots as far as the splash screen. My computer isn't recognizing it, adb isn't recognizing it when I enter adb devices, and I cant get the tablet to turn off or go into fastboot. I tried updating the drivers on my computer, letting the battery die and recharge a few times, and using the reset button, all with no change.

Unfortunately, I think I am a little out of my depth here. I was hoping I would be able to push a new rom on it via adb and hopefully un-do whatever he did, but it looks like I was incorrect.

If anyone has tips on how to enter fastboot, how to get adb to recognize the device, or how to get the tablet back to factory I would be crazy appreciative! I have gone through most of the similar threads, but none of their fixes seem to be working for me.

Thanks!

Nexus 5 doesn't recognize computer while in fastboot topic

I'm trying to flash TWRP on a nexus 5. Bootloader is already unlocked. USB debugging is enabled. The command "adb reboot-bootloader" works when the device is on. While in fastboot it does not say USB is connected and doesn't show up on adb devices. (My laptop is currently running Elementary OS)

rooting/downgrading d85110r without computer? topic

So I had to have a replacement phone insurance-mailed to me yesterday, and of course it came with 10r. YAY.
I had preciously rooted/recovered/romed my phone before all no computer, but now im miserable. Dude this skin is fug. Is there a way to do this is an easy to understand beginner way or do I have to wait? Nobody I know really has a laptop I can use to even try to do the current method, and I'd be to nervous to try to anyway. Downgrading to 10m wouldn't need a computer would it?

[Q] Unable to Connect tf201 to Computer topic

Hey guys, the title pretty much says it all. I have been unsuccessful attempting to connect my tf201 to any computer. Windows 7 doesn't recognize it, nor does 8, and my new installation of arch linux couldn't see it either.

This may be a driver problem, but the part that has me stuck is that I get no recognition when plugging it into the computer. It does not appear on device manager. I have tried connecting it by itself and with the dock. I have also tried multiple cables in case that was the problem. I have even tested the cables on a different tablet and it was working on that tablet. Anyone have any ideas on how I can get this thing working again? I'm a complete beginner to linux, so I could have missed something if there's a way of doing it there. Any help would be very much appreciated. I'm currently running crombikk CM11, if that matters.

Also, I am on the JB bootloader. Tablet runs fine, I just cannot perform any adb or nvflash actions on it. I have tried the universal drivers but have no way of installing them as it doesn't appear on device manager. Is there something similar for linux?
