Tethering topic

Hi everyone, i have searched for fix for my problem but without any luck. My problem is, tethering works without problem, good connectivity and so but it keep disconnects every one hour. I don't know whats wrong. I need it unlimited but dont know how do make it. Im using usb tethering, dont have internet on my PC but so I using friends and with his WiFi I making tethering conn. for my PC, I dont use mobile data for that. So pls help, i need it unlimited and very stable. Thank you very much. I have LG G2 D802.

Can I tether in access point mode with this phone? I'm trying to connect it to a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 which doesn't support Ad-Hoc mode tethering. I'm planning on buying it from the Sony store.

In Xiaomi Redmi 1s & some other phones, i've seen an option in settings as USB internet which simply allows us to use the internet from PC on our phone via USB cable... I know it's possible doing reverse tethering on our phone using terminal emulator & scripts but it's a tedious process. Can anyone make an app or make a setting in our phone to do reverse tethering easy as on above mentioned phones? (i don't have wifi access & 3g costs like hell for unlimited usage here :crying:)

Have we gotten to the point where the Android tools in general use are available for a capable android computer, like say a Z3 or several Galaxy phones just to name a few?

My Z2 has 23.0.1.A.4.44 which I understand is not rootable. At the same time the Lollipop update is supposed to be just any time now. Should I root it now or wait and see what happens after the update, which I'll assume will be nothing to make it easier to root.

Has anyone had any luck making a Z2 connect to adhoc wifi? I've studied the OLSRD patch and a few other methods and I'm a bit unsure about which method would be best and easiest. In fact, I have several devices I'd like to be able to connect to a simple adhoc wifi.

If anyone can point me to a ground level and upwards networking tutorial that doesn't carry a person too fast that is slow in that department, I'd appreciate it. I know the WLAN on most all of my androids tested will see adhoc wifi but the wpa supplicant thing seems to be the problem that google has ignored to the point they say it's now moot. I wish I could say I agreed.

Going further, if I make a usb micro to micro cable to connect these various devices, would it even be possible to hard wire tether the Z2 (and/or) other various android devices that way?

The only cables similar I can find are micro a to micro b and they are mostly called OTG. My understanding is that the Z2 will accept a or b and so will some of my samsung handhelds. I don't guess I know for sure.

Have we gotten to the point that hard wiring androids to each other would ever be of benefit? The wifi direct, near devices and NFC beam things on my devices equipped seem hit or miss at best if not inexplicably inoperative. Can you wirelessly one click root an android or flash a rom?

Please pardon my ignorance and thank you for your tolerance. I'd like my android world to be easier and more logical when it comes to simple things and it would be nice not to need a windows PC to tinker with my androids.

[FIX] USB Tethering lags/freezes on windows 8.1 64 bits topic

Everytime i tried to use USB Tethering with my Xperia U on my Windows 8.1 (Bing's single language Edition [Genuine Licence]) have always lags or even freeze the taskbar and some other tool settings on my operating system. After some testing and googling a little bit i found a solution for this Microsoft Issue: Update your NDIS 5 Driver to NDIS 6.x.

Verify if your device is using RNDIS 5 driver (1):

• Open Device Manager from Control Panel and expand “Network Adapters.”


• Plug in your device and enable USB Tethering so that the device is detected as Remote NDIS based device.


• This should now create a Network Adapter named as “ [Your Device Name] Remote NDIS based [internet Sharing/network] Device.”


• Right-click the Adapter and select Properties.


• Select the Driver tab and then click Driver Details.


• You can see the driver files if the files are named usb8023x.sys and rndismpx.sys you are using RNDIS 5 Driver.

Updating your driver:
Just Download and update your NDIS driver from the attachment below. On Driver's Wizard installation must go through selecting the driver from a list.

If someone can make it through Windows 32 bits edition please post your experience :)

Is there a way to get tethering to work without using something like FoxFi?

I tried the method posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g...-d850-t2814367 but I have a different settings.db file with no tether_entitlement_check_state.
The same was true when I tried on version D85010d.

I recently picked up an M8. I'm S-OFF stock-rooted on 3.28.605.4 (Android 4.4.4) and I've been feverishly looking for a flashable zip or a quick mod that'll enable tethering on my M8. When I was on the M7 there was a simple flashable zip that enabled tethering. I'm not sure what the process is for the M8. Anyone have a thread link or can copy/paste the fix?

I've already tried using TitaniumBackup to freeze TetheringGuard but that didn't seem to do much.

Native USB tethering? topic

Is there anything that can be accomplished to allow the native USB tether to work as designed. Or is there any 3rd party app that accomplishes this without an additional app on the PC. my router does support my friends T-Mobile g3 and connects to the router, but mine refused to connect.
