Fire TV Only - How To Count Ethernet Data Usage & Have Live Data Usage Baud Rate topic

For about a month or even more I have been trying to figure out a way how I can track my data usage, even though my data usage is unlimited I like to know how much and when I use most/least data.
Also what I wanted was to have live data usage shown somewhere on the TV screen (sometimes this way I can know if it's my internet having problems or servers are slow etc...)

So here are the things that make it work:
#1 Xposed Framework (root)
#2 Data Monitor: link:https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...cmonitor&hl=en
#3 xposed module : fake wifi connection (root)

Steps:

#1 Install Xposed Framework if you have not done. [Requires Root]
#2 Extract Data Monitor from Playstore and sideload it to your Fire TV.
#3 Open data monitor (set your position for live data usage[Baud Rate] remove all data cap limits IF YOU HAVE none if you do well. then you can set your data limits.
#4 Install xposed fake wifi connection module, use your mouse go to modules and select it
#5 open fake wifi connection and select all apps? well that is what I did so every app on fire tv thinks I am using wifi when using ethernet cable.
#6 select apply in xposed fake wifi , restart your FIRE TV NOW
#7 do some streaming on the net.. couple mins later check data monitor it should show UP under Wi-FI.

Conclusion
Your Fire TV & Data Monitor thinks you use Wi-Fi when connected to Ethernet so this way Data Monitor can count your Ethernet Usage (as wi-fi)

[Q] TVPlayer app doesn't work via ethernet topic

(i've posted this on XDA Assist but was told to post it here)

hi
so some channels on TVPlayer app only works via wifi. i use the app on my android tv box to stream live channels like bbc, itv etc etc. is there a mod to this app or maybe a spoof to make the channel work via ethernet? cos i've tried 'Fake Wifi Connection' modules from Xposed and it works only on certain apps like BBC iPlayer and Tune In Radio but not TVPlayer. i think TVPlayer is a much better app cos it lets u stream different live channels, plus iPlayer and ITV Player is not stable on my tv box. Ethernet is better than Wifi anyway. anyone can help me out?

[Q] Just want Xfinity app to work via Ethernet topic

Last summer I had my Fire TV rooted and set up with Xposed to fake Wifi access so that I could use my Xfinity app via ethernet. Previous to that I was using FOX-FI and my phone as a Wifi hotspot but Metropcs blocked the ability to do so.

All was well until the unit started turning itself off a few months ago. I was sent a replacement that I believe was a refurbishment and it NEVER updates (i.e. never updated to the Prime option on the left side of the menu) -- which would be great except I haven't been able to root it (most likely it's unrootable). Now I have a 3rd one and I just need to know how I can run my Xfinity TV GO app on it (after it's sideloaded) without having to use WIFI. Also, where is the list of serial numbers or whatever it is that allows one to know if the box can be rooted?

Thanks in advance.

Getting more than 10mbps via ethernet on NP topic

I bought a cheap straight-connector OTG cable from Amazon and when I hook up my USB ethernet adapter I only get 10mbps. The adapter is definitely a 10/100 adapter, but I am not sure if it is the OTG cable or the adapter causing the problems. I am inclined to believe it is the OTG cable since the ethernet drivers are pretty standard. If you have a OTG + ethernet adapter getting 100mbps, do you mind posting what you have? Currently my wirelss AC outperforms ethernet because of this handshake issue.
