[Q] Looking for a ROM with a specific feature. topic

I just got a Nexus 5. I made a mistake and traded a LG G2 for a Windows Phone (that entire OS is garbage) and then got a S3. And finally had enough money to get a real phone. So anyway I want a better ROM for it. But I could not find a very specific feature I want. I am looking for a 5.0.x ROM that I can change the signal to Dbm instead of bars. AOKP can do it but there is not AOKP 5.0.x ROM's available. Thank you in advance.

I have installed CM12 ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S II Plus. Everything is working fine except the call recording feature. Somehow it isn't working. I have tried with apps like "Automatic Call Recorder" and "Boldbeast Recorder" but failed. I have also tried with Xposed Framework but it isn't supported on my architecture. The call recording feature was working perfectly on my stock ROM before flashing. If there's any Mod through which I can make it work then please guide me.:confused:

Hey there, I just upgraded from resurrection remix ROM to cyanogenMod 11 (4.4.4) and the first thing I missed was a multiple user's option. I searched on the net and I couldn't find it anywhere. While browsing randomly i came through these 2 articles explaining how to get that feature back. I don't take any credit for this, all credit goes to the developers and that site explaining the whole method. So I am just sharing the links with you all because I know there are many multiple users fans out here missing this feature.

Both the methods are working like a charm (but you can't receive a call in another account). I used my NOTE2 international version for this. I recommend the second method.

• A rooted device

• Latest whatsapp apk from whatsapp.com/android or play store

• Android 5.0.x

Below is the method to unlock this feature. Root device is required to use this feature.
Method :

Step 1 – Extract files and install the whatsapp apk provided below .
Step 2 – Now install the apk for “Enabling Whatsapp Calling Feature” within extracted file.
Step 3 – Run the Apk downloaded and installed in step 2 Give whatapp superuser permission.
Step 4 – It’s Done. Calling Feature is Enabled.

1. Install the latest apk

3. Add these 2 lines anywhere in the file but within the <map></map> and save

4. Then go to Settings/Apps/Whatsapp and force stop it !
5. Open the app again


Note: Activation is successfull but now you cant call because whatsapp call servers down now. And when will be opened, you can call...

So, does anyone know if there is a ROM that has the HTC tile set for notification panel? There were a few roms on my LG G3 and Galaxy S4 that had this. been wanting to instal a custom Rom, but cant find any with this..

Follow this steps to activate Whatsapp voice calling feature on any Android device.

• Download latest Whatsapp app from here.


• Uninstall older version and reinstall downloaded whatsapp.


• Say your friend who get Whatsapp calling feture invitation and you're done!

Method 2:

You can also try this method.

After installing whatsapp, Open Root Explorer or Es file Explorer and Go to Data > Data > com.whatsapp > shared_prefs > com.whatsapp_preferences.xml
Edit the above file and Add these two lines after <map> -

Has anyone used aptx and smartstay feauture on this.Is it working good.I am using samsung hs3000 for aptx but not feeling any difference in sound quality.How to detect whether aptx is being used and enabled.

Screen saving feature topic

Is it really changing the resolution to 1280 x 720? I have my doubts and I think it's a marketing trick more than really doing something. Mostly because when you have it activated I cannot see any visual difference. Shouldn't the icons on the screen become bigger like it is when you change your resolution on PC monitor?

I finally got around to installing the Lollipop OTA update yesterday and I've been going through some articles looking for new features. One awesome-looking feature is the guest user feature. The only problem is that I can't seem to find a menu item for this in the settings, nor is there the user icon next to the settings icon in the notification tray. Am I missing something or is this not a feature that is included in the Sprint version?
