[Q] Phone dead, need new ROM wth hotspot asap topic

So I've been happy for a couple of years with previous ROM. Installed Airdroid and it totally killed it. Just bootlooping now.

I'm going on a trip tomorrow and need the hotspot. Can anyone point me to a ROM that is stable and has the hotspot rolled into it. Data, and roaming required, working bluetooth would be good too. .

I've been reading for hours as usual (it's 3:30am and I'm running out of time), but am not sure the current state of the development of the ROMs for a phone this old.

ok so i bite the bullet and rooted my note 4, for the most part left everything alone. just wanted to do some minor tweaks. very happy with all the help/info i got from the site through the search. my question is what app do you guys run for hot-spot/wifi tethering. seen alot on here and google, but most post are 2013 or older and most of the old apps arent even active. i normally use pda-net. but i want a stand alone app for this, Thank you.

Hotspot mod topic

I just installed the hotspot mod xdabbeb_hotspot.zip because our fios ont died and my daughter needs to do and submit some college homework tonight. The install was successful. I reboot and go to settings>wireless networks>more... and turn on mobile hotspot. I go back a page and then return to "more..." and the mobile hotspot is off. It won't stick. Is there more I need to do? I am running Skydragon 2.0.1 Rom and Skydragon 3.4.0 kernel.

Auto Hotspot when Bluetooth connects - Lollipop topic

I used to use Automatica Autotether to turn on my S5 Hotspot when my phone connected to the bluetooth of my car. Unfortunately, since the lollipop update - that app no longer works. I tried to set up a tasker solution for it as well, but for some reason I can't get tasker to turn on the hotspot either.

Does anyone know of another app or tasker script that would enable the hotspot when bluetooth connects?

It will backup your original telephony.db to root of sdcard, (option to restore backup or hfa restore option too)
Other menus added cause why not.

If changing sales code or mps code it will not take effect untill a reboot. Factory mode and keystr changes are instant. On note 3 factory mode won't persist through reboot.. On nc5 it won't even persist if you delete it (its recreated and set to on upon reboot. keystr can and will persist through reboot. These options are safe to play with.


(Please note Sprint Hotspot is incompatible with airave device)

Fixed hotspot enable on android L, other changes.... **[NOTE]: changing build type on my phone enables more verbose output, that said I'm using the NAB engineering bootloader and haven't tested it on a stock bootloader, I'll remove this note once I've tested it out on more devics[/NOTE]

GTini added, now you may customize many of the shortcuts in GT, ini file is UTF-8 format, use the built in editor or if editing on PC I recommend Notepad++ I'll get more info on my website tonight most likely with some examples etc.
Each line will be a button(list item actually) and is formatted as such

I have an app called Hotspot Byapss.My college wifi hotspot is secured with watchgaurd technologies firewall. I ve been to many apps to bypass it. Unfortunately i failed many times.The network asks for sign in through watchgaurd username and password{per user basis}. So i encountered an app called Hotspot bypass.That app on execution redirects to terminal emulator.And terminal emulator access a file from the HB(Hotspot Bypass) app and test the ip of my college network and gives prompt like this:


disable wifi
change mac
enable wifi
change ip
gw
test connectivity
CONNECTED!

then my network was spoofed and i can access internet.Now i want those commands to execute in my linux terminal of my lap and access internet.I need some help seriously.I want those commands to change ip , change mac and spoof my wifi hotspot which has watchgaurd firewall.Or please help to bypass it by anyway.I used ultrasurf and tor network but i failed many times, suggest me some ways or give me those commands to execute in my linux terminal. Hotspot timeout not working in Kitkat topic

So I recently rooted and upgraded my Samsung S4 mini with Kitkat. I tried both Cyagenomod and Carbon.

In both the feature for hotspot to timeout when there are no clients seems to be gone. No hitting menu in hotspot settings does not bring up an advanced menu.

Has this feature been gone? Or is just the settings hidden? Can I replace this with some app?

This is kinda a real issue for me. Since for years I was used when using the hotspot with my notebook in my train I simply closed it and hotspot will turn itself of after 5 minutes. Now it keeps running and I often forget about it, until I discover an hour or more later at home I've not been surfing over my home Wifi but over the way more expensive hotspot....

[Q] SPH-L720 Hotspot topic

Hello,

I often find myself in my car pretending my phone is a laptop while my laptop sits right next to me in a brief case. I thought well wouldnt it be nice if I could use my laptop to do work in my car rather than my cellphone.

In my city I have 4G all the time with this sprint service, which would be great if I could just get my laptop connected to it. My phone is rooted and I have a screen shot of the "about device" section under the more tab in settings. It also runs a .odex file system which a google search on another site said was important.

Could someone tell me how I could connect my computer to my SG4S to utilize the 4G internet. All my google searches have lead me to this forum for expert advice.

[Q] GPS Hotspot issues topic

I have a Rogers M8 that I have converted to a GPS currently with 5.0.1 from here.

It's been running seamlessly for quite some time.
I just tried hotspoting it. Everything appears to be working.

I'm using a mac, when I connect to the hotspot everything looks good. But no Internet connection.
I tried an nslookup Google.com and was Refused.

Any ideas?
