Has anyone a similar problem?

[Q] Troubleshooting N5 power issue topic

Hello,
I have a Nexus 5 that recently started rebooting spontaneously. Rooted, but otherwise completely stock. The device is out of warranty.

The issue has become progressively worse, and now is bad enough that it can't even make it through a boot cycle.
So, the behavior resembles a boot loop, but what appears to be actually happening is that power is not delivered consistently.

I just replaced the battery, and behavior is unchanged. Weird thing: if I whack the phone continuously throughout the boot process, the device will eventually boot to Android. Once I stop whacking, it returns to its regularly scheduled "boot loop."

Besides the battery connectors, are there other user-serviceable connections that might be preventing power from being delivered continuously? No point replacing the board unless someone can point me in the direction of a place to get one cheap.

Thanks!

[GPS Troubleshooting] Issues when reading long term orbit file /data/gps/lto.dat topic

  1. Introduction

Note: this thread shall relaunch the topic of this post.

At least in 2013 GPS on LG P990 (aka Optimus 2x/Speed) was working at "maximum performance" under @tonyp 's CM10.2 . Maximum performance means:
    • GPS Fix inside buildings (not too far away from windows; not in the cellar) in less than 20 seconds

    • GPS Fix with 8-9 satellites inside buildings and 10-11 satellites outdoor

    • Without wifi and without SIM card (or with SIM but in air plane mode) GPS cold start fix after battery removal in less than 60 seconds

If you never observed this performance and don't believe me read these posts:

So my main target is to restore exactly this maximum performance and nothing else. It bases on the long term orbit (lto) data technology.

I am not interested in any other assisted GPS features that require internet connection via Wifi or mobile data nor that require data from the telefony cells! I am further not interested in any other GPS tweaks that e.g. only should correct the P990 clock (like top ntp).
