host file editting topic

did everything like this:

1. On your device open your browser and go to: ghisler. com / android .htm . Download and Install Total Commander for Android... And open it
2. Install it in your android mobile
3. Open the total commander from your android mobile and go to: “File System root”
4. Search for the folder: “etc” and open that folder
5. Now search for the file name “hosts” and click on it .
6. Select edit file and add " # " before 2nd line like this " #74.125.93.113
I COULD NOT SAVE!!!! I receive this message: ERROR WRITING TO FILE:/ETC/HOSTS

[Q] USB Host topic

Is it possible to get USB Host working on the Captivate? I am trying to get USB host working by using CM 11 and Semaphore 3.4.3 kernel, but it doesn't seem to register any device that I plug in. I am using a y-cable that works on other devices, so I know that these devices are getting enough power. Thanks!

I completely noodled my att note 2. Right now it's stuck on the Samsung Note II boot screen and I think I found the answer to my problem here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2596256

HOWEVER, I can't for the life of me figure out how to download the file from dev host. It keeps redirecting me to some 1 MB exe file. Here is the screen I'm seeing: http://i.imgur.com/Hkw4STR.png

I am looking for alternatives to the Google Play Store that does NOT charge any fee to host your newly created app.

Are there any out there?
