Volume Down Rocker Not Working topic

Hey guys, I'm a long term lurker to XDA's Forums, but had to make a new account and share a problem I'm having..
Long story short: My rooted Nexus 6's 'volume down' stopped working.

I've only had the phone for about 6 days now, so I've begun making contact with Google in hopes i can just send it back... But it's bothering me enough (worried about warranty) that i thought I'd ping this community too about the scenario.

I'm quite certain it's not a software issue because (sadly) the volume-down button doesn't work at boot either (preventing me from getting in the recovery mode).

As per what I've done:
I'm still using the stock firmware.. I've unlocked and rooted it (as you know already), and just installed (and configured) Greenify, Light Flow and Titanium Backup. I did not freeze or uninstall any apps; i just backed a few up that have complicated configurations. I even got the paid versions of them all to help support the work of the developers (not that it matters). I have not installed Xposed (alpha) or any custom recovery tool (CWF or TRWP) at this point.

Today i installed BusyBox Pro too but never did anything further. I can't be sure when the actual (down volume part of the) rocker stopped working because i never really paid much detail to this until it became evident today, I know i needed it to unlock the phone 4 days when i first went through with the process so it stopped working somewhere between then and now..

Suggestions or Advice?

I bought these great earphones, but I am having some troubles with my devices. The Nexus 7 (2013) recognizes all three buttons as mic button (if you have any solution for this, I opened a thread here);
the Moto G LTE (XT1039), instead, doesn't recognize volume keys at all. If I press them nothing happens, while the mic button works as it should. Is there a way to make them work correctly on my Moto G? Thank you

I bought the Xiaomi Pistons 2 and tried to plug them in my Nexus 7 (2013). They sound good, but the volume buttons don't work as they could. All buttons act like mic button (one tap: play/pause; double tap: skip song). How can I make work them correctly? I'm running CM11 Snapshot 12 and, obviously, the tablet is rooted.

It's rather simple. Just follow the steps.
Pre-requisites:-
1.Rooted and unlocked bootloader.
3.ES file explorer with root access.
4.Brains.(if you missed that there was '2' missing)

Method:
Open ES FILE explorer.
Go to 'device /'
Set path / and /system to rw from ro in mount rw menu
open system
open etc
scroll down till you find 'mixer_paths.xms'
open it with note editor
find and edit
<ctl name="RX3 Digital Volume" value="84" /> SET VALUE TO 91 From 84
scroll down
find and edit
<ctl name="Speaker Boost" value="DISABLE" /> CHANGE IT TO "ENABLE"
press the arrow on top left and save. then reboot

[Q] Skip songs using volume buttons on unrooted ROM? topic

Hey everyone. I've got an LG g flex and I accidentally upgraded to the newest version of android, which is 4.4.2 and now I'm not able to root my phone, and I cannot downgrade to an older version to root. I'm wanting to be able to skip music by long pressing the volume buttons. I use Google music, and haven't found an option within the google music app, nor my system settings that allow skipping songs using hardware buttons. Is there a modded apk that supports it? Is there another music app that supports it that can also play my downloaded google music? Is there a way to enable it without root? Thanks in advance.

it seems like my touch sounds have gotten a lot softer on my note edge lately. I checked my volume settings and all of them are maxed out. does anyone else have this problem, or is there an app that increases touch volume? I've downloaded a few volume booster apps but none of them seem to work

Hey guys,

i was looking for this, but found no matches yet. Hope its not a double, but i definitively need ya help.

I bought myself a Gigaset QV 1030 tablet, with Android 4.2* on it.
I enjoy this tablet in almost every situation with only one exception: The volume is too loud.

There are many apps out here for volume control. But since most of them just work in greater steps like 10%, 20%.. I'd like to set the Volume Control myself, either in shell, or as app.

But does anyone of you know the command therefor?


PS: Im still looking for somewhat like an API-Catalog for Android, is there such thing?

Play Store Download Progress bar issue and Volume rocker button topic

Hi,
I'm facing two issues

1. Everytime when i download from Play Store the progress bar is not showing its download % in notification drawer. Anyone else facing this issue? You can find it in attachment.
2. Sometimes when the Music is playing, if i press volume down or up button, volume gets reduced/ increased but it never displays the volume indicator(dialog).

First off its wife's phone. Don't want root. ( She would've already blamed problem on me). Ever since the 5.0.1 update d850 the in call audio is horrible. Searched every solution online no luck. [Q] Does the phone remember media volume levels for headphones separately? topic

I'm about to order my LG G3 to replace my broken Galaxy Note 3, in the Note 3 the phone remembers what volume level I had for my headphones and what volume level I had for the built in phone speaker. so for example media volume would be at 1 when playing music without headphones and when I plug my headphones it will go upto 5.

is this feature included in the G3? or will I have to look for a custom mod maybe?

Hello. Sorry if this is a noon question.. I'm new to xda, love reading and learning from people much smarter than myself, and thank you in advance for any assistance from you guys and gals. Anyways, I have a T-Mobile LG g3, rooted, Stock rom with xposed. I came from a Nexus 4 and loved to tweak it. I absolutely love my g3, and have never had an issue with setting up the phone to my liking. But I can't seem to find any info on how to use the volume buttons to zoom the stock camera. Maybe it can't be done (yet), but I also may be missing something. Any advice? Thanks again, and to all the devs out there that make tweaking a phone easy for a noob like me, keep up the good work!

[Q] Volume rocker stops working topic

Has anyone else noticed that for some strange reason, the volume rocker doesn't change the volume level?

It happened for the first time on my new Crystal today, and did before with my old one as well. On my old phone it was that it would stop working and would work again after turning the screen on and off. Now with my new one, it didn't start working until I restarted the phone.

I just purchased a new AT&T GPad 7 v410 and I can barely hear the audio/sound on highest setting. It is BAD.

Is this a bug or do I have a bad tablet?

Note: on my Sprint LG G3 I had to root it & change settings internally to increase the speaker volume but the G3 wasn't anywhere as bad as this.

If notification level in set to zero, all incoming notifications from WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS and other 3rd party apps are silent WITH THE EXCEPTION OF FACEBOOK.
Facebook notifications always ring, regardless of the notification volume level.

Hey everyone,

My phone before the 4X was the 2x and the Kowalski Kernel had an nice feature: you could boost your headphone and Speaker Volume
There are many apps on the Play store, but most didn´t work with KitKat.

Is it possible to have the same effect on the 4x ?

Looked at Werwolf and Iodak Kernel but didn´t found something.

On the LG G2 you could set the volume higher in System/etc. at mixer_paths.xml

It would be nice if anyone could help me

I believe my back panel is slightly raised near the volume keys, I see small gap there. I don't have any other phone to post snaps at this moment, Will you please put zoomed snaps of your back panel near the volume keys.. Would like to confirm if it is a issue with my handset only or it looks same for other handset too.
