[Q] Android Wear SmartWatch Hardware DIY topic

Hello everyone, i want to ask something about Android Wear OS and Hardware Specs which is related my Bachelor of Science Thesis subject. First of all, I searched the forum; there were no answers about my question, I also searched developer.android.com/wear and there were no extra information, it contains information about well-known smart watch developers' products such as sony, samsung, lg, etc...

so, my intention is building both software and hardware parts of a special version of android wear device. that means, i need to etch special pcbs, solder chips onto that pcbs, mount capacitive touchscreen, build metal body (cnc cutted) on hardware side

then i must reconfigure, rebuild and fine-tune the stock android wear rom for my specially built hardware, for example my design includes 9-DOF IMU sensor, then i must write its driver (*.so) for my hw, and so on...

And the question is, i want to know if there is any documentation or technical datasheets, example pcb designs, hardware compatiblity lists, reference diy projects, etc?

thanks guys
-fatalblade.

No.1 G2 Smartwatch Review topic

Hi all,

I've just finished my review of the No.1 G2 Smartwatch. I found it to be a pretty impressive smartwatch overall. I loved the fact that it supported both iOS and Android. Whilst all the call features and notifications worked across both platforms, Android was clearly far better integrated, with notifications having app icons, you are able to respond to messages straight from the watch, etc.

Most features worked really well. However, the heartrate monitor seemed inaccurate and I couldn't get the IR Remote feature to work.

The included camera is pretty average and more of a novelty than anything else. I've embedded a sample video recording below:

The build quality is excellent and feels much more premium when compared to the similarly priced Pebble.

If you're wanting to start playing with wearables, I have to say its a pretty cheap way to get a cool new toy at under .

Check out the detailed review for plenty more information and photos: http://hometheatrelife.com/no-1-g2-smartwatch-review/

Thanks to GearBest for providing me the Stainless Steel variant to review. You can purchase it from them here.

smartwatch as a siftable tile(s)? topic

There is a project I found from time ago called "siftables" http://youtu.be/rNZ1pNeBCRI
It dawned on me that if smart watches are hackable enough a similar functionality would be possible to achieve.

Can any devs with smartwatch experienced enlighten more on this possible usage??
I am thinking tens of hundreds of cheap smart watches used in the manner shown in the video!

ALLNOTIFY-SONY:Best Notifier App for Sony SmartWatch 1 & 2 topic

AllNotify is a one stop app to receive notifications of various apps of your phone onto your Sony SmartWatches (1 & 2)
RECEIVE NOTIFICATION FROM WHATSAPP,WECHAT, LINE and other favourite messaging apps.

DownLoad @ https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ify.sony&hl=en

So how is AllNotify different from others
1. Spacing between messages on watch which makes them simple, clean and readable.
2. Continuous notifications like phone call, hangouts video call, Runtastic PRO are ignored this avoiding watch to restart.
AllNotify reads all the notifications you receive from various apps on your phone (like whatsapp, hangouts, Facebook, Mail, Calendar etc) and pushes those notifications to your Sony SmartWatch.

Specially optmised for WHATSAPP and LINE users.Sometimes groups and contacts can be annoying which makes the smartwatch buzz like hell.So the ALLNOTIFY has a feature to block specific contact or group from WHATSAPP or LINE to stop messages reaching sony smartwatch which avoids buzzing the watch and thereby saving the battery of the watch.
