[Q] HTC One X. No Mass Storage. Tried Everything. topic

I know looking at the form this question has been asked but I have tried all of it.*

I have a HTC one X (PJ83120 - Telstra) and I have tried everything to get usb mass storage working on Windows 7. I have reset to factory settings, updates Android to 4.2.2(Highest I can go atm), installed new drivers and sync software, used different pc's and cables and tried with usb debugging on and off.*

The phone informs me it's connected via usb and will also change but windows always reports "USB device not recognize device" even with new drives.*

Any tips and help would be good thanks in advance.*

I tried compiling my own kernel, but it doesn't boot topic

I tried compiling the original kernel I have running on my Nexus 7 2013.

So I did

Quote:

git clone https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/msm -b android-msm-flo-3.4-kitkat-mr2
git checkout -f ac9222cf61b2646a1862fb222365e52a0d1c498d
export ARCH=arm flo_defconfig
export SUBARCH=arm
export CROSS_COMPILE/home/armtoolchain-prebuilt-4.8/bin:$PATH
make -j2

that last checkout of commit ac9222cf61b2646a1862fb222365e52a0d1c498d is the one my Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi originally came with. Now since I used the prebuilt binaries of GCC 4.8, it has some stricter rules for compilation so I had to remove some flags like -Wall from the main Makefile so my compile would continue, furthermore I had to edit a Makefile in arch/arm/boot/compressed so that -Wa,-march=armv7-a instead of -march=all otherwise again I could not compile due to some errors.

After this I get a nice zImage, then I do fastboot boot zImage and my tablet hangs on the bootloader menu, nothing happens at all, I have to hold down power to fix it. Basically my kernel does NOT work in the least and I am unsure what the problem is. I am hoping somebody with experience here could help me.

The reason I posted in this subforum is because more devs would see it, however if Moderators are against it, please move the thread to the appropriate forum rather than deleting it, thank you!

ivoler Screen Protector Great Fit!! Much better than any other brands I tried. topic

I got mine in the mail yesterday, and bought the ivoer screen protector on Amazon.Carefully packaged with a nice little kit, including a dust removing tape, alcohol wipe and screen cleaning cloth. Instructions were clear and direct and installation was a snap. None of the stupid bubbles that you get from the screen protectors. Tactile feel is perfect, and response from the phone after installation is unchanged and very responsive. The screen itself is high quality and flawlessly clear, the cutouts fit the phone (around the camera, speaker, etc) perfectly. Due to the phone having a slight curve towards the edge, there is no way to make glass bend that way so you will have a small (appx 1/8th inch) space where the protector ends and the phone continues. If you have a case on the phone, you will barely notice. I paid to have one of these installed at Verizon on a G3, and if anything I think this beauty looks even better. Just take your time to install it, and make sure you wash your hands clean of any oils before beginning. I installed it in about 60 seconds. Adhesive will not fully grip until you press it down firmly and really make sure it is on there, so you can adjust the fit if your aim is off.
Here I share the picture that have installed the screen protector, it shows very smooth and clear,It's all perfect!!

Tried updating from Goldfinger 7 to 9... Major problems please help topic

I don't really know what to do at this point. I flashed gold finger 9 after wiping all the cashes, now I'm left with a rooted install that doesnt have any wifi and seems to have shotty access to google services...

What do I do at this point? I no longer see safe-strap bootup. I just want to get back to the point where I was at before and now I'm finding it to be very challenging.
