[RECOVERY] TWRP 2.8.5.0 for Shield Portable topic

Team Win Recovery Project 2.x, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

Tablet look:


INSTRUCTIONS:
Boot into fastboot by holding back and home when powering on the Shield.
Connect Shield to a computer via USB.
Execute 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' from a command line.

KNOWN PROBLEMS:
This is build from Tassadars multirom branch. This is because he has code to rotate the display that isn't upstream.
However, I disabled multirom because I haven't quite got it to work yet. The button is still there, but it does nothing.

Bogdacutu for rm-wrapper. Originally created to get touch working for the Shield Tablet and Ubuntu, it was also able to be used for TWRP. And the setup for the Portable is so similar that the program was able to be used here as well.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). Instructions:
1. First time flashing CyanogenMod 12.0 your device, or coming from another ROM?
2. Download the zip(s).
3. Install a compatible Recovery
4. Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM (Optional)
5. Wipe data & cache partitions of your device
6. Flash CyanogenMod.
7. Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.

Bugreport: Report in this thread. It was likely my fault.

Known Problems:
Launcher isn't laid out correctly. It looks like a phone in landscape. The dock is on the right instead of on the bottom like stock. Using the gamepad to move the cursor acts like the dock is on the bottom, however.
The dpad and analog sticks/triggers do not wake the device.

Un-Rooting 32gb LTE UK/Euro Shield tablet on OSX/Mac topic

Hi all!.

ive been digging around like mad and searching everywhere but have no idea what i can do to fix this.

i have sold on my lte shield tablet and the person that purchased it wants to get rid of root and CWM, to put it back to 100% stock.

the guy has an imac with no access to a pc at all, and i cant figure out how to.

does anyone on here have a clue how to?, its driving me mental lol.

Brought my Shield Tablet (32GB LTE, less than a month old, unlocked, rooted, up to date) to work today to see if it would survive a day of logging into our ticketing system and checking exchange email. the day started off pretty well, but then sadly turned into a nightmare as it started bootlooping and if it did start up completely, would usually visibly crash within 2 minutes after which all I could do was hold power button. It would also lock up in Recovery (TWRP 2.8.5). I had a 16GB wifi that I traded in for this 32GB LTE model cause I wanted the extra space. I am so mad that this is happening right now. Have any of you experienced issues like these?

HELP WITH ROOTING N7105 - white shield with "unauthorized access..." notification topic

Hello, would appreciate help.
My n7105 is currently running android 4.3 (apparently that is the latest update as when i clicked on update it told me i am already running on the latest), the baseband version N7105TDVUEMK3, I have installed twrp 2.8, make a nandroid back up to get it ready for rooting. when i try to reboot i was ask to install SuperSu which i did. after booting the device I installed the new version of SuperSU and it asked me to remove Knox which I did. HOWEVER, I then tried to run reset Spen app I am told app fail to run the task and get the white shield with "unauthorized access..." notification telling me to "click here" I do and nothing happens.

Any suggestions on how to disable it completely? Am I missing something? I want full control.

Also, when i check to see if there is any update via OTA, it said this device is modified so can update? can you can i make the system status official so you can receive OTA updates

How can i downgrade back? I hate the colors of the new update red sucks and so pink/violet can i downgrade without loosing files?

Iv'e been playing Soul seeker and iron knights on my Xperia Z2, Shield portable and shield tablet. All devices have root access and has the same tweaks or root apps such as greenify etc etc but on my shild tab the games always says it detects unauthorized program or hack progam and closes i dont have lucky patcher or freedom installed both games work perfectly on my xperia and portable. Any suggestions?

Good day, I own a Nvidia Shield since one week. I bought it, with the only purpose of using whatsapp on it, because, believe it or not, whatsapp is an indispensable tool for my work.
I'm trying to access web whatsapp and the image of QR code is being cut out, but searching on the web, I saw the trick of printing the website from chrome, and scanning the screen to acces whatsapp.
This is also NOT working for me, now I have 430 dollars less in my pocket and a device that is not being used, it is laying on a table on my room...
Anybody here has succesfully logged to web whatsapp?

I'm very sad to see how this section and developpement section is empty. I bought the Shield Tablet because she have many possibilities for a tablet(GC/Wii emulation with Dolphin for exemple) and i'm very sorry to see no one really care about this device.

It is on Dolphin that I want to make a point.

Ryan Houdek(Alias Sonicadvance in this forum) work for long months on Dolphin Emulator for Android. It allowed us to see that emulation was quite possible on Tegra K1 processors.

After a massive work on Armv7 JIT, Ryan worked on Aarch64(aka Armv8) because many arm devices will release this year.

Many games because playable with Fiora "overclock" fonction. There is a list and somes examples

I work too on Dolphin Emulator and bring it a little speed up for playing at Wind Waker.

Since a few days, Ryan work on a Vertex Loader in NEON(NEON are +/- = SSE3). This will give a good boost to any games limited by the loader vertex. (understand gpu thread).

After that, he will work on a Texture decoder(in NEON too). Same think than the Vertex Loader.

Somes games will quickly become playable, like Zelda Wind Waker, Zelda Twilight Princess, Super Mario Sunshine and many many others.

I continue my work for the Shield Tablet, i've actually no plan to bought others tablets. I just want to play at somes games on my Shield Tablet.

So if you wanna play GC/Wii Games on Shield Tablet, please support us. There are many things that you can do.

For devs :

- Write a Texture Decoder in x86 or NEON(this is easy to translate x86 to NEON)
- Bring an overclocking function for the Shield, 2,5Ghz is great for boost and safety
- Help to developping Dolphin Emulator(resolve crashs, enhance function, etc)

For users :

- Report bugs
- Like this post(:P)
- Show us how many want that, that's very motivating
