Is battery drain possible due to hardware damage? topic
So over the course of time I have used many different ROMs and also have had 5 batteries for my Note so far.
All ROMs gave me terrible battery life, except the stock android for around the first year, eventually it started giving me terrible battery life too.
So that got me wondering, is it possible that some kind of faulty hardware on my Note's motherboard is causing those battery drains?

Lost Baseband and IMEI after Water Damage topic
Hi all..
Ive been reading a lot in the forum for the last few days but cant find a solution for my problem..
My brother threw his phone into the toilet..Has been in there for about 3 seconds, as he told me...
He tried the "rice trick" and tried to turn it on after 24h (although i told him not to so early)..
After a week of drying and a failed warranty claim he gave it to me..
Everything was working fine besides:
- the speaker which would have no output sporadically
- the battery which would drain very fast
- the phone did not recognize a sim card beeing put in
I decided to take the phone apart and clean it with Isopropyl alcohol (99,9%) to stop the corrosion process and remove all residue from the water, which might have bridged or damaged some contacts..
After opening i saw which parts the water got to...
I had residue on the SIM slot, the SD Card slot and some lighter corrosion signs around that area..
So my first thought was "Great..Should work after cleaning"....
When i turned it on after cleaning and drying the speaker problem was gone...
But still no reaction to a SIM beeing put in...
Thats when i realized that baseband and IMEI are completely gone..
Baseband unknown, IMEI blank..
So..I started on B520..
What i tried to get it back so far is:
Factory Resets (Hard+Soft),
No changes..
Reflash B520 with dload SD Card method (wiped before)..
No changes..
Eroot + 5irom Backup
5irom tries to backup but all i got at first was an empty folder..
After a bit of tying this and that i got 2 files.. 5.img (8MB) and 10.img (18MB)..
5irom cant restore anything from this files..All zeros in HEX-Editor..Both files..
Downgrade to B125 via dload SD Card method..
No changes..
Downgrade to B112 via dload SD card method..
No changes..
Thats where im currently at..Im pretty sure i cleaned all residue from the logic board...
Did a second clean in between to make sure..
So i guess, its either hardware failure (the modem/radio part of P6 is right behind the SIM/SD slots, where the water left most residue..) or some kind of software chaos that i cant fix on my own..
Any ideas what else i could try to restore my baseband and imei?
Never been flashed with custom firmware...Just used the root to get 5irom working..
Thx in advance..
