Everyone working with GPLed code, in our case the linux kernel which is under the GPLv2, needs to understand how the licence affects them, and the work they put out on XDA developers, to aid understanding a good write up of this issues has gone up on the portal, you can read it here;

GPL compliance is taken very seriously on XDA, but at the same time I remind people to report anything via the proper channels rather than confronting anyone in public, which always does more harm than good.

A note to rom developers:

• Using a non GPL compliant kernel makes your rom non compliant and subject to removal.


• If you are using another developers kernel, linking to that kernels thread will make you GPL compliant (assuming that the kernel in question is compliant)

Hello XDA-Developers i really need your help on how to root,install CWM Samsung Galaxy S5 Quadcore korean clone. and i really want to install some of your Custom ROM's please help me i really like to root and install a custom rom. My Samsung Galaxy s5 Korea clone is SM-G900F and have a MT6852. PLEASE XDA-Developers i hope and wish that you could help and give some information about how to install CWM and root it. how to login with google+ account to xda-developers android app topic

Hi, I'm just new to xda-developers.

I signed-in yesterday by my google+ id (through the button in the right-top of the web page).

I downloaded xda-developers offical android app and I just don't know how to log-in to this app.

I tried to input my google account's id and password but it didn't work.
