[Q] Newbie looking to be steered in the right direction topic

I am wanting to develop hopefully what is a simple app, and am wondering if someone could steer me to good tutorials or even tips on how to do this. I am trying to make an app that basically when opened has some text a logo image and a search box with button. It is to be able to search hopefully a csv or something for the ohio basic code. It's what small police departments use as opposed to the ORC. I am looking for them to enter a keyword or orc number and a list appear below with the summary, orc number, obc number, and description. I know very little about programming, but am willing to learn to help these guys out. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

[Q] Best rom for emulation right now? topic

I've decided to unearth my Xperia Play for some emulation (N64 and PS1). It's currently running Aurora Play 1.1, a GB based rom if I recall correctly. I have not used it for about 1.5 years, and was wonder what is the best rom now with the greatest performance with emulation for N64 on Mupen64Plus AE and PS1 on ePSXe. My phone antenna is broken so I will not be making any calls or texts, the device is purely for gaming/emulating.

I'm open to GB, ICS or JB roms but the touchpads need to function perfectly with no lags (I remember trying ICS roms and there was lag whenever the pads were used). Thanks for everyones feedback, I look forward to see what ROMs people are running and do the same things I do :)

Android 5.0 "No" Icon top right of status bar topic

It seems to be slowing my phone down, it happened earlier today, i've tried rebooting etc, but nothing has fixed it.. my only option is to reinstall the rom again, but i have had the rom installed for a few months now?
if anyone knows what this is please help !

What Is The Right Way To Include APK's In Android 5 (CM12) Rom ? topic

Hi @ all,

a short info what i was doing on cm11:

to include apps to my flashable zip i included my wanted apk's to /system/app and the depending libs of the apk's to /system/lib. This was working a long time perfect.

With CM12 there was not enough space in system partition so it is not longer possible.

To solve this in created an independend zip to flash which puts my wanted apk's to /data/app. Caused by the new structure in /data/app there is a subfolder for each app /data/app/appfolder/app.apk. For the needed libs on each appfolder there are subfolders /data/app/appfolder/lib/arm which contains the needed libs.

The Interesting part: some apps wont install on initial boot.
Another try was to create the structure /data/app/appfolder/app.apk without the subfolders for libs and the libs itselve then all apps will install but some crashes caused by the missing libs.

Has anybody knowhow to get it working correctly ?

PS: By try and error i noticed if apps are installed from playstore and later is updated by a new release the old one is not removed from /data/app. In older versions of android it was removed. Is this a normal behaviour now in android 5 ?

Black burn on top right corner of display? topic

I'm not sure if it's right forum or not but I just wanted some opinions regarding an issue I'm getting with my 2 year old Note 2 (GT N7100). Recently suddenly i noticed a burn type thing in one corner of the display. Since then it has slowly grown in the last few days. It is especially noticeable on white background.
What I'm guessing is that the digitizer is gone. But just a guess. Can somebody actually help me out a little to think what else could be a problem? As mentioned it's a 2 year old GT N7100 running CM12 having a tempered glass screen protector.

[Q] Can the N910t be used with a different carrier right out the box? topic

Hi everyone,

Im thinking of getting the T-mobile Note 4 because its the most "usable" model since its bootloader is unlocked, it has different roms to choose from and can be used with LTE globally. I know there is an international model (N910f) but it seems it has trouble with LTE in the US.

So the question is, can I use the N910t (T-mobile) with another carrier right out of the box, if unlocked? Meaning the phone never touches a T-mobile sim card.

Strange problem here...

The right earphone is quietier then my left side. Is there some secret setting that sets up the volume of each channel?
This is very strange. Suddenly started today. I think my kids may have touched something.

Audio Balance way louder on right side topic

I've noticed this for a while and it's driving me nuts. For whatever reason the audio comes out about 80/20 with 80% of the sound on the right side. I've tested with multiple headphones and LG Tone+ Bluetooth headphones. I've also used multiple audio apps including a youtube video that's made to test sound from right/left speakers. Any ideas? I'm running Viper as my daily driver but also have installed Fluent's Lollipop rom via MultiROM and it's the exact same. If it was just headphones I'd think it was something with the connection but it's also an issue with bluetooth. I thought maybe I could just find an app to adjust the balance but I can't find any app that adjusts left/right balance either.

Need help in choosing the right kernel topic

Guys, I have a moto g xt1033. I installed cm11 latest build with gapps and it was running fine, but was consuming too much power, so I decided to install a custom kernel. I tried phantom, xperience and Donkey Kong kernels, and all of them failed to load WiFi, otherwise, it's running very well. In the WiFi menu, it tells, "Turning on WiFi". I even tried clean wipes and installs. Can anyone help? I need a custom kernel for saving battery!
