smartwatch as a siftable tile(s)? topic

There is a project I found from time ago called "siftables" http://youtu.be/rNZ1pNeBCRI
It dawned on me that if smart watches are hackable enough a similar functionality would be possible to achieve.

Can any devs with smartwatch experienced enlighten more on this possible usage??
I am thinking tens of hundreds of cheap smart watches used in the manner shown in the video!
