[Q] Wiped LG G3, now can't flash a ROM topic

I asked this in the LG G3 section but got no response.

Awhile ago I rooted my LG G3 and flashed TWRP. Then I accidentally wiped the whole phone (not just a factory reset) and had no OS, just TWRP. I managed to get the AndroidNow ROM on there, flashed it, it worked again, so far so good.

Except that now it's buggy and laggy and slow and I want to try something else. But if I try to flash a different ROM with TWRP, it doesn't install. I get stuck with AndroidNow. And while a factory reset takes me back to a fresh install and it works smoothly again, it only takes time and a few very basic, well-known apps to be installed to make it all laggy again. It's not overloaded with off-brand or HD games or anything like that. Just BeyondPod, Feedly, another RSS reader, Dolphin, some twiddly little things that wouldn't even break a Nexus One...

So....is there a fix for this so I can try a different ROM? Any ideas? According to RootChecker I still have Root.
