[Q] point me in the right code direction to modify Google Maps zoom gestures? topic

I'm fishing for anyone with working knowledge of Google Maps. I want to modify the double-tap-hold-swipe gesture, that you use to zoom-in/out of Google Maps, described by Google as "One finger zooming by double tapping but not releasing on the second tap, and then sliding the finger up to zoom out, or down to zoom in."

In other words hooking at the part where the second tap isn't released. Is there any reason this won't be possible? Where should I start looking?
