[Q] IPTV? topic

I have read about a number of different solutions to achieve a live tv feel to the television when using an android set top box. What is the experiences of the people who own a nexus player or a android set top box when it comes to live tv? I would like to be able to turn my tv and nexus player or android set top box on and see live tv streaming whether its in combination with an additional device, hdhomerun, tune n view, another ip tv service, some way to accomplish hdmi pass through? The box has been out for quite some time now and I am surprised that there is no clear solution to this problem(#firstworldproblem lol) . Any suggestions and or input would be appreciated. I bought and returned the nexus player and would like to give it a shot again.
